Legends 3 and Silent Hills still hurts to this day. If you make another list of lost video games, a good entry would be the movie/celebrity games. That Taxi Driver footage you had in here, as well as Dirty Harry and that one Snoop Dogg game that was akin to GTA. I’m sure there are more but none are coming to mind right now.

Want a lost game which is also obscure? Firewall: your computers first defence. I've been looking for that game for ages. No website now, most downloads don't work, no way to contact the developer of it. I just wish I had bought it when I had the chance. I can describe most of the game (based on a demo I had) if you need information about it.

@@argentsoul_ pc game, author had a demo for download and full version was a purchase, you essentially had a grid and you can build little bots on it that either take over the ground by placing 4 pillars in the corners of the spaces (the grid is made of loads of squares) and bots to go attack, I am not sure if there was a story, with the demo I could only play a couple of levels in a skirmish environment. I think the year is around very early 2010 or somewhere in the 2000's. The last place I remember seeing it was game maker forums, the "studio" behind the game was called "platinum bolt" Hopefully I have remembered enough but its been years.

Good video, but it could've diversified a bit more. Basically every entry talked about was a cancelled video game that might've had a playable build. There are plenty of actual lost video games which were fully completed, released, and then lost.

@@abraveastronaut Granted, most of the ones I can think of have been talked about a lot/been found, but there's Mean Girls DS, the McDonald's training DS game (found,) Socks the Cat Rocks the Hill (found,) tons of MMO's, online games, flash games, those 3D Groove games which were the engine for a lot of those online 3D Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network games, and there are more I'm sure are escaping me at the moment.

Portal 2 was originally set to be in prequel, but there is no portal, they using some kind of tech called “F - Stop”. The main antagonist is supposedly Cave Johnson. I think you should check it out

The main gameplay mechanic of the 2019 puzzle game Superliminal, in which you can grab objects and resize them based on perspective, was actually confirmed by valve to be extremely similar to what F stop was planned to be.

Mega man legends 3, mega man universe, mega man online, and project maverick hunter were all mega man titles in development at the same time and were all canceled within a year of each other. The only games we got for the next 6 years were the officially licensed fan game mega man x street fighter and his inclusion in street fighter x tekken.

if you do another lost video game video you should definitely include katamari damacy online! it's a korean spinoff of the video game series katamari :) it's not as lost as some other games out there (since there's footage and screenshots) but frankly that makes it even more alluring! there are a lot of characters we know the appearance of but not the names of, and all of them are very cute :)

The first fighting game, Heavyweight Champ, was found in a news clip from 1976, about 2 years ago. It's the only surviving footage of the game. It's unique arcade stand isn't even around, but hopefully one turns up.

The Diddy Kong Racing CD actually CAN play in most CD players, any top- or tray-loading device will work. Only slot-loading players can't because the sensors used to detect the disc assume it's, well, disc shaped. I had the Yoshi's Story CD from around the same time that was shaped like Yoshi and the only CD player I had access to that wouldn't play it was the one in my mom's car.

Going back to Sabreman Stampede - Sabreman wasn't exactly a new character. He was an old IP going back to the days when Rare were known as Ultimate Play The Game. He was the protagonist in their Sabrewulf, Underwurlde. Knightmare and Pentagram games on the ZX Spectrum, and would have also appeared in another lost game Mire Mare (also on the Spectrum).

Konami is legitimately a horrible publisher, but 9 out of 10 companies would have booted his over budgeted ass years before Konami did, and for good reason. MGS V was finished they just remove Hideo's name, and if you have Ground Zeros (rescuing him) you can even have Hideo in MGS V through a save file. Then they released the horrendous metal gear survive Also Del Toro is in Death Stranding.

@1:17 The Silent Hill machine is a digital slot machine, not a pachinko machine. They are called "pachislots" so I can see why people might mix them up, but it has no elements of pachinko. It's not any different than a slot machine you'd see in Vegas, aside from having separate buttons which stop the wheels.
