JLC is not on the list likely for the same reason. I originally was expecting Jacob and JLC but when they said the lowest model had to be more expensive than the Rolex lowest model I realized they may not show up. For me that show there are brands you can get much better value for money than Rolex.

You can get some of these makers at affordable prices, for instance, I have a watch that although not made by Roger Dubuis (1st on the list) it contains a complication made by him and I paid less than £1,000 for it (used)

What determines a good watch is history, pedigree and craftsmanship of top time instruments, not necessarily the expensive pricing. The brands mentioned by Alux are all haute horology which Rolex is no where near to be honest, Rolex is historically a working man's time piece priced at a weeks wage, this is the history of the brand. Due to artificial scarcity by Rolex and watch dealers most Rolex enthusiast misconstrue scarcity with rarity hence paying for an overpriced utilitarian movement. Mass produced hand made watches in the holy trinity format PP VC AP Brands challenging the established holy trinity A' Lange & Shone JLC FP Journe Independent watches were deliberately omitted as they are all high end horology but only makes limited amount of watches annually. Luxury watches massed produced in factories Breguet Piaget IWC Rolex Omega Tudor This is my own take on, this topic would always be subjective as there is no right or wrong format.

To be honest Rolex is an entry level luxury watch. And majority of watches trade in a range of 10-30K. I'd say Blancpain, Breguet, are priced similarly. Tho there are countless brands that are more expensive than Rolex. Yet only Rolex has wait list.
