Just like my books, DVDs, PDFs, I consider these videos as part of my magic library or collection. I download the ones that I find apropos and instructional to me (The Five Foot Library for example). This video was a download :)

Absolutely brilliant, loved every single point you made. I started with a lot of Gregory wilson effects and I looked at every effect from other creators and asked myself, "how would Gregory Wilson perform this" and before I knew it, I was talking like him, making jokes like him. It didn't feel unnatural, but to the contrary, it felt like a safe place.

Tarbell 3, or as I call it the "Orange One", is an invaluable guide. It was intrical to putting together my early shows and still is. I'm going to have to check out the Dan Harlan PDF. I am currently building a new show. I almost forgot that I have Maximum Entertainment 2.0, another great book! I love these videos! Thanks for doing this! P.S. I ended up getting Ted Leslie's Paramiracles. Excellent book!

This was a fantastic episode!! I had not heard of several of these books even though involved in magic for some time. And your opinion at the end? Makes total sense in a world where many shun live performances and merely present video magic - the guts and gumption to do live magic should be so strongly encouraged that even the (early) copying of some one's style or "voice" must be embraced if it increases live magic.

All excellent suggestions. My favorite in this category (and many others) is Parlour Tricks by Morgan & West. It walks through an entire show, explaining not only the tricks, but also the script, staging, lighting, etc., and how certain pieces developed over time and why they remain in the show and in that spot in the show. Plus the writing is very funny.
