Funny. I have had this book for years. Picked it up off the shelf the other day and thought, “I need to suggest this for review at Erudite!”.

Have this book; Great book for all the reasons you stated!! I would simply say there are other ways, using another, less known gimmick, to accomplish the effect. The gimmick is even more invisible that the standard gimmick used for the 100 dollar bill change.

It's addressed in here, too, albeit not to the same extent

I've never really had a major desire to learn a book change, but I like the idea of a book dedicated to many different methods to accomplish the same thing. The closest I have is Nancy Colwell's Theseus or Marlo's Revolutionary Card Technique (ok... maybe that one isn't exactly like this, but it probably has something like Palmed Card Replacement - 17th Method somewhere in there).

Book looks gorgeous but I don't care about the Bill Change. The book design work in particular looks outstanding. Also: we could see what the gimmick was when you flashed the contents page. 🙂

The strength of the trick takes us back to an elemental part of the history of humanity and magic. The magician, like an alchemist, turns something of little value into something of great value. It also hits upon a basic human wish, if only I could reach into the air and have money appear at my fingertips, at will. Sound familiar? I also saw a reference to the Miser's Dream in the book. They are much the same human concept.

With all respect i do not consider the changing of the spectator's one dollar bill into a hundred dollar bill to be a good trick and certainly not one of the most powerful either!! Why?? It is not even logical under the conditions it must be performed under and it ends as a anticlimax for the spectator!! Not even good magic. Why would the wizard change a dollar bill to a hundred and instead of giving the hundred to the spectator performer must change it back to one dollar bill? But, the book and the bill switch is still a worthwhile buy, because i get a great result by folding spectators bill waving my hand over it then unfolding it and their bill now has many colors drawn on it and interesting designs!! Spectators wonder how the colorful added designs have suddenly become printed on their bill and they can , ofcourse keep their own dollar bill as a memento of a magical moment!! Gary in dreamland; have a nice dream!!🌟🌟🌟🌟☁️🙂☁️👍🌟

Agree to disagree on this. I think it's a GREAT effect - isn't that what you would do if you could do real magic? As far as handing it away, there are many options, but it sounds like you've found an approach that works for you!

I disagree with you that it isn't a great trick but see your logic about changing it back to a one dollar bill. I think this flaw could be covered with a good backstory. Not sure what sense a bunch of random colours on a bill makes but if it works for you who am I to question. Personally I've never seen the logic in a torn corner piece bill or card. I would think a magician would restore it not leave one big bill or card and one little piece extra.

@@jethro1963 i agree with you about the torn corner from a bill or card to""prove"" it is the same bill or card, but then why wouldn'nt the wizard restore the bill or card !! I believe that we the magicians should rethink some of the presentations that we have been doing and look at it as if we were the spectator. At present time i think too many performers are performing for themselves instead of truly amazing their audience. THIS IS ACTUALLY THE POINT I AM EXPRESSING!! Thank you for your reply!! Wishing the best for you!! Gary🙂👍🌟🌟
