Dear Katia, you’re such awe inspiring, I’m striving to get a higher level and constantly trying to have enough time to watch your videos, they’re totally hypnotic! Just a question, when you mention C2 verb number 8 (5:00) you write There’re, are we allowed to use this expression? I’ve always known we can’t use contraction for the plural form, while “ there’s” is admitted and absolutely correct. Am I wrong? Thanks a million for the chance you give us to improve our knowledge, all the best from Italy 🇮🇹

I'm sitting the CAE exam in three weeks and I am so stressed! I need it to enter the degree that I want. I passed the FCE last year and I got 163 which is quite far from C1, I'm scared I didn't improved enough in one year to make it. Do you have any advice for the reading part ? I find this part pretty hard. By the way I really enjoy the content of your channel. 😀
@Englishbits
@Englishbits 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks!! Try to do lots of sample tests. As for the reading part, my recommendation is not to follow the order (part 5/6/7..) but mix up the parts. Start with the part that you find easier. I'd leave the puzzle until last cause you can get stuck there and lose a lot of time. Establish your own order. And don't get stuck on sth you don't know, leave and if you have time at the end of the exam, you can go back. Good luck!! 🤞🍀🤓

@@Englishbits do you have any advice to keep the vocabulary you learn fresh in your mind?. I live in Colombia and it is almost impossible to use advanced vocabulary all the time and then when it comes the time to use it I feel unsure and doubtful, and then I end up avoiding it in the conversation and using the same old one.

@@Englishbits I wouldn't limit it so strictly to money exclusively. 'to skyrocket' can be used for anything that has to do with numbers, amounts, levels, rates etc. Some examples: The number of children suffering from depression has skyrocketed in the last couple of years. Diabetes rates skyrocketed. Church attendance skyrocketed after the attack. His school grades skyrocketed. // I love your channel otherwise, just wanted to throw in my two cents. :) Keep up the good work. PS: On a different note, do you live in Valencia? I was a bit surprised when it showed up in one of your examples. :)
