English Bits things are not getting any better, more than 5 thousand have passed away and the government is just about to open schools and businesses next Monday!!! It’s crazy here! Some state governments strongly disagree and want to conclude school year and continue using technology to give classes. Wish this virus had never existed!... on the other hand, in my case, I have come to acquire brand new skills and have been teaching using zoom Gracias x preguntar! Hope u r ok! And your family and friends too! 😃😉😉

Hello! When you give the first definition of the verb "neglect", I think it's to fail to take care of sb/sth or *not* give enough attention. Thanks for the videos! :)

Your videos are amazing, really useful!!!! However, sth is making me hesitate, on the example of SPARE, shouldn't it be "No effort should be spared IN FIGHTING against cyberbullying?" Thanks in advance!! 🤗
@englishbits2 жыл бұрын
Hello Gloria! Thanks for your comment! You can use both: to spare no effort to do sth or in doing sth.

To bear fruit is a verb, not a phrasal verb. It's formal and you can use it essays. 😉

By the way, you can’t say ‘spare no effort in passing’ since it does not make sense. I could spare no effort in preparing for it. Or, I could spare no effort to pass the Proficiency exam. And there’s no other way, I’m afraid.
@englishbits3 жыл бұрын
Hello! I think it's correct and the content is mine.
@clockfixer50493 жыл бұрын
@@englishbits It does not sound right and there are good reasons for it. 'Passing' is not an action (unlike in Russian), rather a result. You can consult a corpus to discover that it does not make a collocation. In fact, search results can help in developing a feel for when and where to use 'spare no effort in -ing' as opposed to 'spare no effort to + inf'.
