This is honestly what paintball needs to in order to grow. I just started playing again after a 6 year hiatus and of course I instantly go back to playing PSP/NXL style tournament paintball and while that is fun, there is always something to be said about OG old school paintball. Every player almost always starts with playing the in woods, on the hyperball fields, on tires, etc. It's great to see that we as a community, are opening to other styles of tournament play other than airball. Having mechical only events will only help the sport grow. Playing in the woods and on hyperball field requires a totally different skill set over what you see in tournament airball......super big props guys, keep it up make these events happen more often locally in all states and I'll will be sure to play them.

Love the look of this, gives people a chance at becoming professional at this sport without the truckloads of money needed to buy a nice gun, constantly afford to repair said gun, and, buy paintballs
@justinbarrier1445 жыл бұрын
Most people don’t know this but it was always a complaint of people’s to say that the guns were to much and as a people who played competitively back in the day (me) , I hate hearing that cause Yes if your a PRO or have the money you can def buy a Eclipse/Dye/Boblong for $2k-4K with everything but you can Pick up GREAT guns that will rope some paint for like $400 (ions , PMs ) when a Tipman A-5 (most popular Noob gun in the world ) was like $359 - So hearing that complaint always pissed us off when you would see kids wit the Tippmans and say o no your gun is to fast .... But I hear you on the paint :)! So retarded how expensive and fast it goes !
@iniesta88565 жыл бұрын
Well thank you for a logical argument, it’s hard to find those in KZbin comment sections these days. I will say that from my price standpoint, $400 is still a lot of money. I currently own a Tippmann Cronus (which I believed was the most popular noob gun.) While I have absolutely loved it for its toughness and all around pretty decent accuracy and weight for what you pay, Ik getting to the point to where that’s not enough. I try to play an average of once a week on a field that is unfortunately nearly an hour from my house. I’m trying to work towards a gun priced between $400 and $100 but can’t seem to find one unless it’s at the very tip of that price range. If you know of a mechanical gun by Tippmann or Dye that is worth the money, I would be extremely happy to know about it. Again, thanks for a logical conversation in a KZbin comment section.
@justinbarrier1445 жыл бұрын
Iniesta 8- no problem I totally understand - telling you once you get a better gun thT can shoot rope super fast and accurate you won’t miss that Tippmann lol ... OMG ya go for a Dye Proto Razzer Max!!! for like $379 , will change your life - sexy ass gun - so reliable ! And you need to get off the Co2 man horrible stuff . Get a better gun and some Nitrogen ... so much cleaner. The problem with getting a better gun is it’s not just $379 for the gun cause you HAVE TO BUY. A electric hopper and you have to buy a nitrogen tank and a POD Caddy 3 + 2 cause now that you’ll shoot paint faster your gonna need at least 3 Tubes of paint in a game
@justinbarrier1445 жыл бұрын
Look up the Dye Proto riser Max right now and tell me when you think of the look and also look up a KZbin video of it shooting ! Your gonna wanna get a nice nitrogen tank carbon fiber - out of all the thinks to buy expensive for parts that’s it ... cause the tank can be HEAVY if you buy cheap and it make such a big difference when you have to lift the gun to aim 1000 times a day . So spend $190 on (1) carbon fiber shorty tank then if you want for back ups you can buy cheap but you need 1 good one
@iniesta88565 жыл бұрын
@Justin Barrier I can only see the first part of your comment for some reason in my notifications, it doesn’t show up in the actual comments, if you read this is there any way you could type it again in this feed (not sure if that’s where you originally put it but retyping it might make it show up) sorry for the inconvenience, but I really would like to read the rest. Thanks!

i remember the first couple years i started playing back in '98+'99 was on a field similiar to badlands but bigger and we used to do 10 man and bigger. this was when rainmakers, angels, and cockers were up to and well over $2k, and the rentals i got to use was the spyder compact and stingray 1 and 2. the biggest rush i ever had in my life playing any sport was those first 2 years. paintball seemed so different in those days. its still superfun but the adrenaline is just not the same.
@TruthHrtz4135 жыл бұрын
Thank you!!, "To legitimize classic paintball and make it cool again " 1:55. Grew up playing 10 man woodsball, always was the core of the sport. 5 man speedball is for the higher end faster pro minded players with plenty of $ to burn. Woodsball is and always has been what the sport is about- as a player I loved taking a younger less experienced group and challenging 5 semi pros to a speedball match, then win and watch those kids faces that they just took out a guy with the 800$ autococker...Or the game i found a grandfather and grandson playing, they were hiding behind a bunker pinned. so i told em to lay low till they heard me yell.. i suicide flanked and took all the fire from the 4 baddies pinning down the kid and old man.They got me- but gramps and the kiddo lit them up. :) The smile on their faces is why I play ball.. Always in camo shorts with my camo sandana and old school Vents mask taking out jerseys with my spider elite- @ 40 still playin woodsball , still have my Vents predator, and 5 markers from old spyder comp B, to spyder elite w 14 in. smart parts barrel , to e-trigger spyder imagine , classic tippman 98' , and my original stingray* w smart parts barrel, yup.. they made after market barrel for worst gun ever*, lmao..I even played a scenario game at yarmouth , Cape cod MA.. millenium game 600+ WITH a Stingray- talk about spray and pray...that gun was sooooo inaccurate I just got a rental automag semi and then had sum fun... for 6 hours straight! 300 vs 300 woods ball. Cost me 80$ paint 20$ admission in 2001 :):):)

This brings me back to the good ol' days of paintball. Forgot how fun well made fields in the woods are. The only downside of woodsball that I remember is that there is always one side of the field with a significant strategic/tactical advantage over the other side in terms of how trees, bunkers, trenches, structures, lanes, etc. are set up due to it being out in nature where it is going to be asymmetric and with asymmetry comes the ability turn it into a competitive advantage bc the other team will not have the same set up on their side of the field to at the very least run the same strategy and possibly not even have the correct field layout for an effective counter strategy which can make the game unfair. I guess you could swap sides every so often but if the team on the "better" side of the field wins every single time, then you'd have to remove that field from the rotation in the tournament because it would come down to whoever wins the coin toss of who gets to be on the advantaged side first & therefore will reach the number of wins required first just because of luck. All that aside, this place still looks like a ton of fun.

This is exactly what needs to happen, legitimize mechanical or pump play competitively. Not everyone can afford to burn through cases a day to play speedball and moving to a more economically attractive sport will indeed help grow it.
@justinbarrier1445 жыл бұрын
Agreed - I used to be on a small sponsored Team when I was 16-18 and man just practicing alone you would go through 2 cases a day in speed ball which is 4000 balls and depending on the Paint could be $80-130 bucks for that alone - Now that I’m older 12 years older and don’t play competitively it makes it a lot more legitimized if you can mainstream the other portions of paintball so that it grows and people of all ages join the game - it’s gonna take some time though. The worse part back then and why I got into speed ball was cause you can always get competitive games right away and every time I played regular (rek ball ) was only like groups of 6-11 year olds and a couple parents watching them or girlfriend and boyfriend . Obviously it wouldnt be fair and not fun as I would just burn through a hopper of paint in about 6 seconds taking out 6 kids on a bday trip lol
@CHURCHISAWESUM4 жыл бұрын
It's also just more interesting to watch. Too much paint in the air keeps people behind bunkers. Laning kinda killed paintball imo. It should be about quick, accurate plays, not who can dump more expensive paint into the side of a bunker.

Great Vid!
