how does 1 liter of water "get down to 9 1/2 liters". Also the clams grew their shells down there under the pressure. It's not like they were born on shore and then swam down to the high pressure of the trench and somehow developed shells strong enough to resist the pressure...

The HMS Challenger was an Explorer ship from Great Britain, it went all around the world chatting the depth of the oceans, and getting specimens of sea life at various depths. That is the reason for the name. The first ship to go down to the Challenger deep was the Trieste I do not remember off hand the name of the ship that the Trieste launched from

its the composition of the clam shells that have evolved differently than the clams we know. a regular clam would be crushed at this depth, these clams are somehow able to survive due to a different make up of the shell

Love this channel, big fan. But #5 "There are bridges there"...don't know what the channel was trying to infer. These are natural rock formations due to the tectonic plates and bridges formed...formed naturally. So why pose the question of what the bridges are there for? Is the channel trying to imply that there is an unnatural reason for the bridges? For me, I felt this question detracted from the strength of this video. There's really no need to pose this type of supposition in this particular video.
