I did well for a 59 year old. The one that got me was the last squats with legs together, then jump. My legs were already too pumped. BUT- I will try again soon. Thank you Sifu, I trained with you yesterday as well. _/\_

These exercises would absolutely kill me, literally. I have a lot of damage to my back & spine from prior auto accidents which made me disabled. I do Tai Chi, which helps, but also know if I don't even try some exercises, especially at least trying some of these, my body will only stiffen up, making me feel even more miserable.

Master, that is a very good exercise......I’m 52, in LA area, just stared to learn Shaolin martial art last month. I find it challenging because my knees hurts when I squat down...but I know my knees had to endure my over wight. Regardless, I am taking cautious so I won’t hurt myself but still working to get back in shape. Thanks for posting these videos, very helpful and inspiriting.

Now what I would like to ask you is what, in your opinion, is the best way to train leg flexibility to be able to for example kick higher or being able to get into full lotus form while meditating. Sincerely, your loyal follower Marcel

Francesca there are other slower workouts here, like morning stretching and lighter routines. Then you can gradually move up to more energy demanding routines like this one (also you exercise different parts of your body, which is benefitial) Check them out in the warm up and workouts playlist of this channel. You have found a gem, here. Happy workout!

I just found your channel and I LOVE IT! I have Fibromyalgia and Chronic back pain from failed back surgery syndrome...but have started doing qi gong and have found extra benefit of doing SOME Kung fu moves...slower and with more care! I’m a massage therapist and this has helped me greatly! Thanks for sharing so people like me can do at a slower pace! 👍🏻❤️😘
@KUNGFULIFE-shifuyanxin5 жыл бұрын
That is great 👍 hearing your benefit from the training. I believe training makes our body, muscles stronger and able to healing them-self better, instead only use medicine, other word kung fu is nature medicine :) . take care yourself during the training and wish you all well.
@vcat81365 жыл бұрын
KUNGFU.LIFE Thank you!!! I completely agree with you! And I’m being careful and slow...it’s a fine balance between progress and overdoing...but having started qi gong first and then adding in more strengthening and cardio...it’s going better than other things I’ve tried in the past. I guess that’s why y’all say that it’s actual medicine! 👍🏻❤️

Thank you very much, awesome video. Was just looking for something strength training to complement my NeiQiGong as I'm hitting the limit with a NeiQiGong session lasting only ~20 minutes and instantly developing what feels like a "Yin aura" (just too clean aura for the body in relation, making the yang "cleaner"/thinner than the yin xD). Anyway, again thank you very much for this video, these are just the bits of knowledge I can use ^^

There are way too many people online who say KungFu is useless. Just because a practitioner is not aggressively looking to fight people doesnt make it useless art.

It is so rare seeing people doing the "correct" (naturally correct) eye and hand movements/complementary body movements with the arms and especially hands when using the legs. Therefore I was expecting you to also do NeiQiGong or at least QiGong for enough to time to pick up Qi manipulation along the way. - I say along the way as it is my understanding that it's not truly taught in Shaolin, more like "pick it up yourself by training body and mind, if not - too bad". At least in the few documentaries I saw about life as a shaolin and stuff there was no more relation to Qi manipulation than dozens of people doing the same QiGong movements (which in itself is nuts to attempt to just feel Qi that way - instead of learning simple Qi channeling to the hand, which everyone can learn in like 20 minutes to 2 hours at most) :D

First of all thank you so much for the video. It was really nice. Quick question. Im training with weights for some years but i want to improve my body to become more flexible.I also need this for my meditation and also i feel like grandpa with the flexibility that i have now. haha So i want to try kung fu basic training and increase flexibility over time. Can you suggest me your best suited videos for begginers to start from somewhere and also what routine to follow? Thanks in advance

there can be a problem for some with the exercise shown at 1.42. If one has a large calf muscle and big thighs the excise can put too much pressure on the knee as the two muscles press against each other pulling the knee apart.

Hello Cynthia, just try to aim to do at least 10 min of these workout 3 times a week, don't give your self too much pressure, treat it as a fun exercise. I find a good time to do it is in the morning, if you get up 15 minutes earlier than your usual time and spend it on workout then you would have done your workout for the day and fill accomplished. Hope this helps.
