For anyone wanting to know for why there are teams in MKWII. Look no further than GSC (Grand Star Cup). A competitive Mkwii server made specifically for clan wars. Teams are placed in 10 divisions each season based on the skill level of each team. 1 being the highest and 10 being lowest. In each division, there are 6 teams all with 5 players each playing. 2 teams face off in 12, 10 player races to see which team scores the most points. The reason why one player of each team goes backwards is simple. They are trying to go for the shock which can only appear in 9th and 10th place on 10 player races. Why go back for such an item? The shock is the most powerful item in the game and only 1 shock can decide races which depends on which team used the shock. It is for this reason, the players trying to get the shock are called the bagger. The rest that go forward are the runners. This is a basic run down for GSC for new competitive players just getting out of their 1st mogi lounge matches. I edited the division amount since I had to double check.
