[MKW] How to do the Wario's Gold Mine Hopless Pipe Bounce (w/ commentary)

A tribute to how I got my first regional top 10 in this game. Hope you guys can make the most of it and improve some regional charts :)

Just wanted to clarify a couple things: -This strat loses time to the WR method (about .7-.8 per lap) -This strat is infinitely more consistent than the WR method, I can make it most of the time if I align slowly Happy glitching!

Great tutorial! This is the ONLY way I've ever made the pipe bounce and managed to stay on the track. I was trying to do it the WR way back in 2015 when I was making my giant shortcut video and couldn't get it so I resorted to this method haha

Thank you SO MUCH for this video! I finally got my first 3/3 glitch time :D my time was a 1:06.550. It probably could've been like 1:00, but I was super cautious on lap 3 (I spent probably 5 or 6 seconds aligning and got a really weird pipe bounce, (adding another second) :P

Almost got my first 3/3 sadly lap 3 I got the bounce and landed on the track but then fell off. Luckily I got a different run still a 2/3 but faster lap 3 respawn! It’s a 46.411 (top 116) thanks

2 possibilities #1 your angle in the alignment phase is too far right. Try to just BARELY be on the right side of that point that I showed at 1:23 (Most likely this is why it's not working) #2 you aren't going far back enough to hit the checkpoint. Make sure to go past the 2nd wooden post on the left

Hey uhh... funny story. i was doing this in the middle of the night, because what else was i supposed to do. And my kind but semi-annoying brother caught me and said. hi, very usefull tutorial, i managed to get onto the pipe and shoot through he track. However i'm always flying off to the right. You mentioned at the end of the video that you need to hop to prevent this but i dont know when to hop. Is this after you drifted over the pipe? is it on the pipe? would love to hear that bc i cant get it quite right

Good question. I'd say once you're getting to the 35-34 second range, there's only so much further you can go til you have to align super quickly, and at that point it becomes just as hard as the regular method so you may as well do that

might be a bit late to ask for help here but, whenever i try the pipe bounce i end up not cutting the turn sharp enough and fall to the other side after i get the bounce and land of the track. and i turn all the way to the left at all times, is there anything i'm doing wrong / any tips anyone has for this?

Yes that's quite normal! Do a new hop to the left as soon as you make it through the track and it'll keep you on

I’ve never ever done it this way, and it looks so unsatisfying lmao. I’ve always done it the OG way since it was discovered, I got 00:39.833 with 2 bounces and 2 other times I bounced the third time but hit the bridge and fell back down :(

For me it's very satisfying since it's how I got my first regional tops :P The OG method is optimal and if you've gotten 2/3 then you should tough it out until 3/3 imo. But if you just want to beat your time then this is way easier and more consistent

Everithing works just fine, except for that I litterally NEVER bounce on the pipe. Always touch it and die. What am I doing wrong? I'm holding left and drift :(

In case you aren't already, make sure you're holding A. There's a sweet spot to hit. It's between the left green edge and the black middle. Try your best to hold left at the point that makes you land on the mid-left part of the pipe. You may also be positioned too far away or too close to the edge, so your shroom doesn't carry you far enough. Make sure you follow the positioning closely

@@RaFGuy Mostly trying to get to the pipe was the hardest part, I just winged it most of the time cuz idk when to use the mushroom and all that, most likely a good tutorial I just dunno how to do it right and gave up.

@@RaFGuy Oh and for some reason the one time that I got to the pipe and the camera dude picked me up I went back to initiate the checkpoint thing (I forgot how the checkpoint system works) for some reason it wouldn't count as a lap, do you know why this happened? and also is it recommended that I learn to use the nunchuck instead of the steering wheel? I noticed while trying the lava land thing that the wheel can super easily ruin alignment so I'm just wondering if it would be worth it to learn that instead. and last thing, should I only use the mushroom or should I also begin driving when executing the trick? That wasn't clarified in the video and I think I may have done that wrong.

@@Aleksimaier You use the mushroom once you are aligned and kill your standstill miniturbo (if it is charged) 1:45 Triggering the out of bounds on the pipe is a very common fail. That's what Nintendo intended to happen when you fall there. You have to specifically land on the left side of the pipe 2:00 this means you're close to making it! I hope you don't give up I would highly recommend transitioning from wii wheel to nunchuck as the motion controls will come naturally and you can more easily drive in a straight line and have more control over your inputs. Yes, you begin holding A again as you use your mushroom. My bad for not clarifying that

Dang man you're getting unlucky. You can make it through if you hop at the exact right time, but you should just pass through the bridge normally most of the time. Keep trying!
