Someone else mentioned to make the Birthday freebies hack even better is to signup at a couple of places using a different month of the year for your BD, typically you only add in the month and year you were born, when the freebie arrived it's usually only a coupon good for a month, so by using a different month at different places you can have freebies all year long.

I love that term "recreational eating"! Never thought of it that way, but it is an accurate description. I consider overeating wasteful, kind of like leaving the heat on when you leave your house for the day, forgetting to turn off your electric blanket, or running your car when you go into a store for a quick stop or something like that. Just wasteful of fuel.

Your funny, save money don't go out for coffee duh, who has the money to go out to eat anyway, going to the movies? Really with the price of tickets? that's why we watch utube videos. How about some realistic money saving tips, don't turn on your t.v. if you even still own one, unplug everything, take one extra light bulb out of your overhead lighting. Bathrooms are small you should know where everything is in there already, you don't need the lights on to find your thing. Go without air conditioning people used to do it all the time, sleep in jogging outfits when it's cold. Get your laundry detergent free by going through the trash at the all night laundry. Put buckets under your gutter's and collect rain water for your plants. Whenever you are cooking and using meat, grab one piece off and throw it in a baggie for soup. Save tops and bottoms of your veggies and put in a container in the freezer for broth. Learn how to cook with basic ingredients. Buy winter clothes in the spring and spring clothes in the winter. Save your shower water for the toilet flushing. Leave your light/fan off in the bathroom in the winter when showering the warm air heats the house. Don't have pets or children, there both expensive, stay single have a "friend". Learn to sew up socks with holes in the toes. Gorilla glue is your friend with shoes that are falling apart. Watch better money saving tips than this guy.

One thing I like that you do is you go by "per year"....the average person is just trying to make their 2 weeks. I'm not judging here, life is hard! Ok. But, if you look at your bills by the year......it really offers an eye opening experience, imo. Even if all you did was start with ONE bill on the list & pay it by the year....like a subscription. It makes everything else a little less pressure & it's easier to maintain throughout the year. I think that's one of the biggest things I've learned lately. Not that anyone asked. Just over here, spewing words.

Depending on where you live, using public transportation (buses, trains, etc.) can save a lot of money. I used to take the bus to work every day, and it was cheaper and more relaxing than driving myself 45 minutes one way. Recently, I took a trip to Chicago via Amtrak. The train was way cheaper than if we had flown, and a lot less hassle than driving in traffic or getting to the airport super early.

I don't have mortgage, coffee is free at work and I can take it home, Wifi/net is $40 unlimited, I don't eat in the movies, I don't need to snack, I need to go nowhere - driving or flying, my family is too small to shop at Costco, done credit card hacking when I needed the card, not worth the trouble- it's easier to work more. Getting free stuff is not worth complicating your financial life and get stuck with Webull/new account or credit card. I do like fasting suggestion. We did that as kids because we'd rather play outside all day than come in to eat. I have two mile commute per design. You missed that "know your prices". I drink half gallon of milk a week. Big savings buying it from Safeway or Aldi. Also, half a gallon vs gallon. Fat free vs whole. Choose you savings vs the trouble you have to go through to carry a gallon of milk home.

Hi Gabe Bult, I really like the CC idea but wanted to get more clarification. To clarify for my understanding are you taking out brand new CC one to two times per year? Since I am debt free, I can put all my expenses on the new card I take out to reach the min. required amount to get the points but then ...do you cancel these cards way later down the road, or do you just have heaps of unused cards that are sitting around? Or do you use them all like once per year just to keep them active? Also, is that worth it when you are paying a $95 annual fee on many of these cards that you are no longer using or using for small amounts later? Thanks for letting me know what you do! Love the videos!

1. You always have the option to downgrade those annual fee cards to a $0 annual fee cards. Ask the card provider for those options 2. I would recommend keeping the credit line open as it will help help your credit in the long run, you can also ask the credit card company to lower your credit line (becareful though because your utilization might go up)

Always check on the best offer as well. The American Platinum offers anywhere from 60k to 125k bounds points. Check online or call direct before committing. For me, I look at all of the benefits and if it exceeds the annual fee, I will try for at least one year. And it is best to look at benefits you would be taking advantage anyway, not “potential” benefits because those can end up costing you more.The option to cancel is always there after that.

Thanks for the video. I didn’t know that Webull offers free stock. And I agree on the intermittent fasting. I actually used to eat every other day. It was so nice not having to worry about what to eat/cook for a day. Also, along with the fasting, eating less meat. Maybe have your big bowl of oatmeal for breakfast, some nuts for a snack, and then a filling dinner. Oatmeal full of delicious fruits does keep you full, even if you workout (I weight train).

Driving this year to all our vacations. I pack snacks for the car and during the week. Everything goes on the credit card for points. Always pay off credit card at end of month.

Hey does moving your car payment to bi weekly save as well on interest?
@kimberlymayo9951

The more you pay, the less principal it becomes so less interest to pay. Add to the principal each month on top of your payment amount, it will pay your loans off sooner and save you money. No matter what the loan is.

Question on paying mortgage bimonthly - do you mean basically doubling up on your payment, or paying half every two weeks? The former is kind of unrealistic for a lot of people, so I thought I'd ask for clarification.
@kara1084
@kara1084 Жыл бұрын
It's something in between. You pay every two weeks which adds up to one extra payment spread through the year. It is 26 payments of half the monthly payment. Not every bank cooperates with applying the payments in a way that maximizes the interest savings though.

@@kara1084 so basically a half payment every two weeks, not just twice a month. That makes more sense, ty!

I like to hide my money in places as a safety net; both in physical locations and different programs online. Isn't there such a thing as too many bank accounts? Could this activity be flagged as something that could possibly hurt us in the long run?

Love these tips, not sure about the skipping breakfast one though when you then say you eat a bowl of oatmeal later, like, that's breakfast! 😂 You've just moved it to a different time. And toast or cereal is nowhere near two dollars let alone five or ten!!! Or maybe that's just in the UK!

My son just spent a chunk of his savings on a scooter to get to work! I'm hoping he'll still be willing to help out with the gas bill, but I seriously may not need it since the car sits in the garage a LOT now. It's currently in for service but the mechanic said he doesn't want to change the oil yet because I've still got 2000 miles to go and the way I drive... I should wait! :)
