I loved using "change subject" when they start talking about things they dont like and getting negatives... really good for building a relationship. And for dates with married sims and couples when you're a perfectionist that wants it to play out perfect lol. It's one of those little things people don't use.

For the cheat box, if the cheat does not begin with "Boolprop" you can press the Tab key and the game will auto complete it. For example, suppose you will type the cheat for placing objects in a quarter tile grid. You just need to write "setq" and press "Tab". The game will auto complete the full cheat.

Yess! This is SO crucial for new simmers to know. You can also edit your startup cheat document to add cheats that are always on. For example; I always have testingcheats, allow45DegreeAngleOfRotation and petactioncancel etc. on.

on windows i use the sticky note feature and list all the crucial cheats i need to use and copy + paste from there. super useful when you pin the sticky note to taskbar as well.

The trick with M blowed my mind!!! I've always put a few items on the shelves until I reach the desired spot for the object. Then deleted the ones that I put to get to that spot. I feel so dumb now haha thanks for the tips n.n

They're not cheats! They're in the Open for business booklet. I think the placing of quarter-tiles came in that extension too. What has bothered me though, is that you can't place objects in the display windows without cheats? I've never found a way.

I actually use the "change topic" option very often. When only one of my sims in a couple wants to have a baby, I make them talk about toys or anyhting that would look like their talking about having a family. If the conversation goes well, then I assume the sim who wanted to have a baby and iniciated the conversation managed to convince their spouse.

I think a lot of people know this, but if you don't want your flowers to die, buy the sprinkler so they'll water your plants automatically. Since I discovered that, my sims's flowers never died again!

one that i like to abuse is if you use the sledgehammer tool on homework it counts the homework as being finished even if your sim didn't interact with it at all lol

You can also use the "~" key to expand and unexpand the cheat window. That's what I've always used, never knew about "X"

Hi Pixu! You can also get rid of a huge cheat bar by pressing the key “~” (just below the “esc” key) on the keyboard And as far as I remember, you can unroll the cheat bar whenever you want to with the help of this key

Unfortunately, 4:53 isn't entirely true. If your Sim doesn't know what chemistry they have with certain Sims, the game will just sort them alphabetically by last name. I can even see in your game that the first one is named Adams! I had hope about that once but then noticed it didn't really work as I'd wished...

The one about going to the neighborhood and picking the lot from there sounds so useful! Half the time I look at the lot names and go, “what lot is that?” The ability to be able to look at them before picking the specific one sounds wonderful. Wooaaahhh I didn't know almost ANY of this 🤯🤯🤯 only one I knew was that you're able to press the up key to put again the cheat you used last... I USE IT A LOOOOTTTT and if you press the up key again, you'll be able to see all the cheats you used before

Not sure if you’ve mentioned this in other videos... if you are in cas and you right click on a face template it gives your sim 10% of that face and you can keep doing it till you get to 100% and it will be that face template

4:10 Ctrl F was only possible with seasons and up. If you have the base game or any expansion before seasons like nightlife, university or open for business you have to use either cheats or walls for diagonal tiles and rotating tiles was also impossible for that version too.

The sims 2 base game only had you load into the neighbourhood screen after calling the taxi since there was no option to do so otherwise until the nightlife expansion pack. Bon Voyage added the option to walk to lots.

and you can get rid of the cheat box by just clicking anywhere (outside of the text input), which will unselect the box, and then type ctrl + shit + x again to make it disappear

The conversation system isn't more complex in Sims 4, the conversation options you get are pointless even for storytelling since they share animations a lot of the time. The interests and the ability to change topics in Sims 2 make the outcome of conversations more predictable and give you more control over how your sim gets along with others. This feature would've been a lot more useful if you could actually see what the other person's interests were after interacting with them for a while, but still it's a level of depth the sequels can only dream of.

[ and ] started working only in the Apartment Life pack, as far as I remember, the Sims 2 Super Collection for MAC doesn’t include this pack Maybe you’ve already found the answer, but I’ll write one for future readers: There are mods that look like shelves or tables of different height, this way you can place your things wherever you want to and then change the colour of these shelves or tables to transparent, I used that for a long time since I’ve got all the packs up to the Free Time pack only
