The hbitproject is my favorite youtube channel in blender modeling topic. Nondesctructive, lots of geonodes, procedural materials and very good at teaching the right approach for modeling. Small channel, but deserves attention

excellent info on this video, its just those professional critiques (photo) that are cringe beyond comprehension but i get your point.... i used to be passionate about photography and every photo club/exhibit had those eternal critics who've done nothing their whole life, yet would rate a tree in the snow with a 4 (no, its not michael kenna)

Some of them are naturally a bit advanced, but my impression is that much of it is fundamental techniques that are then built upon. What child doesn't love to play with sounds or llighting for example? Either way thanks for another great vid

@notimportantstudio
@notimportantstudio Ай бұрын
@@robinsquareshey of course man I agree that if you put so much effort in researching you should be rewarded. But for some reason a link to open sourced material put out there by a studio and other creators feels different. For example you selling your composite workflow file I completely get and I was buying it right away not because I need it but because I appreciated the effort and the creator. That allot of people react on this matter says something about how the community feels about this just saying. It feels a bit like gatekeeping. It’s just on the edge of it. Again didn’t want to completely judge you still liked your video and still like you as a creator but we don’t have to agree on everything to still be friends in life right :)

Hi Robin First, right now, your channel is top, top, so congratulations. I really apreciate what you are doing here, it's really great content. I have a question for you, or maybe a suggestion for a video. In 6:24 you are showing a reveal method, and it's really similar to an effect that I've developed for a comercial for one of my clients. Problem with blender is when you activate motion blur with that particles, it gets really crazy. There are fixes, related to the ID of the particles, but I have not found a PERFECT solution. Do you have some trick in your bag that can solve that?
@robinsquares
@robinsquares Ай бұрын
I've heard about that problem, but never experienced it myself. My particles get motion blur. If you're using Geometry Nodes, I'm guessing whatever graph you have doesn't respect sub-frame intervals. You probably know that Blender samples between whole frames to get motion blur. You can even look between frames yourself by enabling sub-frame scrubbing. If your node graph is "teleporting" particles from one frame to the next, they won't get motion blur. But if the math works with decimal numbers, and you could theoretically move it half a frame, then it should work. Try scrubbing between frames and see if your particles jump around or move smoothly. And don't hesitate to shoot me an email.
@faustoart
@faustoart Ай бұрын
@@robinsquares Hi Robin! thank your for answering! The problem is a bit tricky. There is this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/nYTRiXV8iphmnsk that I think explains it very well, it's related with the ID of the particles. When you add a set of particles via geonodes, they work properly, but when you start killing them (with a delete geometry,(just to not have too many working together) they loose their original ID. So blender is not able to properly track the id of each particle, and the motion blur needs this ID to properly work. The solution is to manually add a random ID for each particle, but it's not an easy task when you have thousands of particles in the scene. Actually I found that this problem is true too with the particle system of blender. If you try to generate particles from a dynamic object (fimagine that you are generating particles from a cube, and you delete via geo nodes, or other method, one of the faces) you will loose the motion blur of the particles. It sounds like a very specific problem, but it's really a killer when you are working with particles for VFX for example.
