LIFE! In today's world it is getting so boring. it seems like many people want to look the same like clones...same wig hairstyle, same body shape, same everything! Likewise, people are willing to throw away their own personal style in their own private spaces to make their home decor all look the same! Wow! BORING!! Nothing worth seeing there. You see one, you see all. There is nothing like having your own sense of style and unique taste. It adds interest and great aesthetic appeal. Don't succumb to " peer pressure" and be forced to spend what you do not have and rake up high debts. It is ok to be you. Delve into your own creativity and expressions. Clutter makes your home look busy. Also curtains , hang curtains closer to the ceiling. If possible, upgrade your curtain brackets as well. Matching pillows on living room sofa. If you buy a sofa from places like rooms to go or something like that, nothing wrong with it but it usually come with matching pillows. Buy some pillow inserts and get different sizes, colors, and patterns, a mix of pillows upgrade the room, also a centerpiece rug that’s too small for the space also make the room look cheap. There are so many ways to upgrade your space. My personal style is yet real and use color to add to the space. Add color in your accessories, pillows, artwork, etc. Yea those are my few tips to add but the video is great.

@martasanchez6372 Жыл бұрын
@Lisa Schooler The neatest way to keep your books is by size and type (hard cover vs paperbacks). From that you go by color. Most bookshelves Ive seen avoid paperbacks though. I have mine tucked away in a bin since they damage easier than hard covers and keep the hardcovers only on the bookshelves. You can also declutter books by donating ones you've never considered to re read and are just pilling up dust in your storage spaces. Be careful when you purchase new books by ensuring to buy hardcovers only or get book sleeves and make them all match.

I just want to say a point my husband made, I'm in the middle of changing alot of the packaged stuff into glass and plastic nice containers I was going to put the tide pods in a glass jar but he suggested leaving it as is because although he agreed it would be nicer and our kids don't generally have access to it, they could at some point and now the child proof lock could have been a last wall of protection it's gone so if you have young kids in your home consider leaving medication, cleaners and laundry soaps in their original packaging for that reason

I'm going to be honest, some of the furniture you showed, like the cloth covered cardboard drawers, still look cheap. My advice, get the highest quality item item for you budget, and that might mean going to thrift stores or garage sales instead of buying cheapy mass produced furniture. Look for a really nice, solid piece that fits your style and budget and is high quality so it will last a while and hold resale value. You can apply this to soft furnishings as well. I like linen curtains and I have high ceilings so they can be expensive, but I looked on ebay for deals and got them for half off. I could have easily spent the same amount on polyester curtains but I got higher quality for my budget.

West Elm has great pillow inserts and pillow covers. High Fashion Home has great pillows as well. Great ideas, but interior design is subjective. Everything is not for everybody.

I don’t put my decorative pillows on my sofas because people don’t know how to treat them. They just flop their big behinds on them like they’re seat cushions. It’s so aggravating.🤬
@kimberlynotkim26823 жыл бұрын
The fact that they just plop down aggressively on furniture period is rude! People are very disrespectful to your home including the one's that live there! 🤬😤😤

I reference that nene scene daily "what is diz hunnyyyy?" Anywho, I agree with everything! BUT I am having a tough time hiding the wires in my bedroom! I have an echo, a lamp, and a diffuser. I cant find anything to hide the wires and still allow function, do you have any ideas?
@IntellectuallyKurious3 жыл бұрын
I purchased a pool noodle spray painted it black, slit it and put my wires through.

I think I am officially old. I remember when roller shades went *out* of fashion. And now I am having an existential crisis because my brain is still in 1990 and thinks roller shades are bad. Thanks for all the tips! I'm going to cry in a corner now.
