Be careful, this video is designed to do just that, sucker you into moving there, its a great place to visit, not a good place to live, unless your wealthy, you cant relay on any jobs up there, the economy is in free fall, Its crazy expensive to live there, so many cons and scams are pulled on new residents, all designed to part you with your money, smiling faces in videos like this cant hide the truth, Wyoming is unstable and its getting worse and worse.

In much of the state, Medical care and especially quality emergency medical care can be hard to find and very expensive. Most of us go to Utah, Montana, or Colorado for specialists. During the winter (November through April) the roads be closed at anytime. Interstate 80 is constantly closed during the winter so don't plan to go very far. Also, in the winter the roads are not well maintained and you know you have crossed the border into Utah or Colorado when the road suddenly is clear of snow and black ice, and safe. I have seen it snow in every month of the year and even seen the interstate closed in June and September because of blizzards. Even though we have a regional airport, the fares are so prohibitively expensive that most of us fly out of SLC or DIA. Again, many of us shop in Utah, Montana, or Wyoming as our choices are very limited. We don't have many of the 'big city' problems and the schools are well funded and teachers are appreciated. There is only one university, but there are many affordable community colleges. Wyoming is sure a beautiful place to live.

Good breakdown and sales pitch for moving here, and I love it here and our only regret is didn't move here sooner. You didn't mention Gillette, but this is a great community and haven't met a bad person yet since moving here. Kids ride their bikes around the neighborhoods without a worry, people walk around never worried about being accosted, and many things are close to how nice, friendly, and peaceful most of the country was 50 years ago where you didn't have to worry about thugs all the time like now in most of this country. There are many things I haven't yet done here, but I have plenty of time left to be able to get out there and enjoy. Besides, the winters aren't really all that bad for me, I have lived in northern Wisconsin and Colorado as well as worked in North Dakota and they are all snowier than here as well as WI and ND being far far colder.

As a Canadian if I ever have to move Stateside, Wyoming just went towards the top of the list :-) Sounds like up here 50 years ago. Thank you Alisha for such a positive but real presentation which will help a lot of people understand the pros and cons for them. I had an uncle, for example, who just didn't go to cities with less than 1.5 million people. When he attended my wedding many moons ago and we were in a city with only 100K people I realized how much he loved us LOL. That population density sounds heavenly! Frankly, so does the lack of silly gun laws made for deep urban situations like Vancouver or Toronto when Canada is mostly more densely populated by beavers and moose than humans....Well done!!!

Great video, I'm a transplant. I've lived on both coasts, almost drowned in both oceans (rip tides). Then lived in Colorado for several years, ending up working 10 miles from the Wyoming state line in Wellington, CO. I moved to Cheyenne to be closer to that job and now work and live in Cheyenne. I work outdoors too and the -30F down to -40F windchills are real and dangerous. FYI, Cheyenne is just over 6,000 feet elevation, higher than Denver. You just have to plan ahead and endure. The tradeoff is NO HUMIDITY in the summer months, I hate humidity. Oh yeah, you have to go out of your way to drown up here at 6k Elev. It happens, but you gotta go outa your way.

I am relocating to Casper from Texas in April of 2024. The 2023 summer in Texas was brutal and I don’t mind the cold (grew up in Colorado / and Alaska as my dad was in the USAF) as much as I dislike the heat. My son moved up to Casper two years ago and I spent last August there to escape the heat, went back and stayed mid October, November and December. I work remote so it doesn’t matter where I am physically located. Looking forward to the move - I honestly fell in love with Casper and hated to return to Texas.

Having lived in Casper for over 20 years, your review was spot on. I'd just like point that the cold winter temps are not all that bad because of sunny days and low humidity. What is bad is the frequent wind. Most of the larger Wyoming cities can boast that they are large enough to offer all services but without the big city problems like traffic. From downtown Casper you can be snow skiing in 30 minutes or water skiing/fishing in about 45 minutes. There's a lot to like.

Now it's not been like that since MT. Saint Helens blew up. I've been back now 10 years, the last two have been 30 to 50 below here in north central Wyo. Understand what ur saying..... Used to embrace Texas, until the 'liberal', carpetbagger bait began targeting Austin. One of the finest, large bridges ever constructed, lies northeast of Corpus Christi. Never used to be any toll, at all. Now, I hear the new wave has begun milking..... It's safer being aware of what newcomers bring for baggage.... Newer isn't nece better. Some of those passing through Wyoming, begin to complain about roads not being salted or plowed..... Maybe, we should all pay higher taxes, to appease those complainers...¿ Maybe, we should all make sacrifices, because the few who feel compelled to drive when common sense might better dictate delaying a trip they timed for inclement weather¿ After all, I enjoy wonderful memories of times in Wyoming..... yet, changes have commenced not just in Texas, Hawaii, Califirnia, Canada, etc. Let's face it.... you could once hike for many miles of pristine trails.... adorned by Mother Nature, exclusively. Since then, one may find some 'genius' corrupting the sanctity of pristine, only to 'decorate' w uncommissioned carvings or graffiti.... or other forms of leaving their garbage behind. I can respect Wyoming natives' endeavor to maintain the lifestyle closer to simple; rather than the complicated confusions of states entering decline..... It's kind of like SUVers complaining about professional drivers passing them in a blizzard..... I personally see no sense trying to tango my pickup truck w a semi. But, since everyone's got their own opinion, we all must pay for delays caused by 4-wheelers who simply must make everyone come to a complete stop. Following too closely, during periods of reduced traction &/or reduced visibility, has historically even involved commercial traffic accidents. I am fine w Wyoming just the way it has been. And, if'n ya don't like it in California or Massachusetts, then YOU should change it there; instead of moving your baggage to change a perfectly excellent-managed native populated state, like Wyoming. Go there w Respect, or just try elsewhere!

South Texas has the Floridian weather and fifty years of being 'snow-bird' friendly but publicity only shows border issues. Heck, migrants to come across the border to stay in McAllen or Brownsville, Del Rio, etc. They go where the big companies who brought them over want them. @@bitfenix90 I agree with you if referring to South Florida - they have a large metro area drawing from the Everglades. The rest of the state has access to a pretty nice aquifer along with several rivers and natural springs - we also get a lot of rain. However, we are somewhat limited on land. I looked at Texas. I actually used to live in Del Rio many, many years ago. The problem with Texas is property taxes are among the highest in the country, which does offset no state income tax. I think I'm going to spend the summer driving around the country to figure out where I like the most and look into relocating there - or, perhaps keeping Florida as my base and just live in other states for a month or so at a time during the summer until the kids get out of school.

Tatyana, Los Angeles Is Casper a good place for retirees? I’m from Ukraine and after leaving 30 years in Los Angeles I terribly missed four season and small town benefits.

I have visited Wyoming a few times. My wife and I currently live in Washington State ( yeah I know). We are sick of the politics, taxes, snotty attitudes and just the overall BS here. We are retiring in a year or so since the Build back Better plan has forced us to work longer than we wanted to. 2 states are on our radar Wyoming and South Dakota, with Wyoming being the first. Thanks for the info, we will definitely be in contact when we are ready to move.

Is it true that in Wyoming there is no property tax cap that property tax can go up as high as 30% 🤔😱in one year on a single family dwelling i.e. 3 bd. 2 ba. 2+ attached garage newest to new home 2000 to 2023?

Please not lie to people, the truth is Wyoming has weekly Indian attacks so you have to be armed at all times! Wyoming has a lower average winter temperature then Alaska! Wyoming has the most deaths from venomous snakes and spiders of any western states! Wyoming has major air pollution because of the huge oil and gas industry! Wyoming is the most expensive mountain state to live in if you include ammunition costs from the weekly Indian raids! 🤷‍♂️

Funny, when I visited Wyoming I was told that there were only 3 seasons; July, August, Winter.

Lol I don't think that is totally accurate. I'm surprised they didn't tell you that we only have two seasons. Construction and winter : )

There is nothing you can do about it, they are coming, coming like locusts. A sea of condo's and second home mansions and no logistics. Think it wont but its headed your way like a wave just like its already happening here in Colorado. They move to a small town and try and change it to the crappy place they left.
