I think in reagrds to RF5 - it's REALLY important to note - that the company actually went bankrupt during development. so a lot of the issues that are within the game. - was impacted because of that. now that Marvellous is in charge and the franchise is stable, I'll very much doubt that it will have issues. I notice that a lot of people don't mention this when talking about RF5. (not to mention it's still a very lovely gaming experience. I have so many hours in it)

RF4 was basically the series love letter combining everything from all 4 games. then they thought they could do 5 - then delays/bankrupcy, and then they got their 2nd wind but i just think instead of delaying the game they pushed it [to make money which makes sense in that context]. Like i said - I have 100s of hours (i finished it 3 times). and I really love the game. (and i don't think it needed to be 3D but i think that's what most cozy games wanna do now so its fine). and the first one will always be janky. I bet you RF6 will be mega wonderful as well as this spin off. but RF5 always [imo] deserves some grace.

My biggest hope for the new SoS is that they don’t focus on making it an open world and sacrifice gameplay and mechanics in favour of it. I am so eager for more details.

I'd be interested in checking out and will be for Super Farming Boy and Sunkissed City though. Hopefully we get some good surprised farming games as well. Maybe Mistria will be in 1.0 next year too?

Only 3 of our most exciting releases? Oh man, that's hard! I'd go for Fantasy Life i, Guardians of Azuma and Story of Seasons OR the new Sakuna game! I didn't know about a new Sakuna game - I'm excited about the hints of automisation, I love management games. For SoS, we really don't know much about it, but I hope it does not focus on "exploring" a linear world or crafting. In fact, I would be happy if there was no crafting at all. How about a farming game with a lively town where the farmer is not doing everything by himself? It would be so cool to request crafts from villagers. Keep the farm free from makers!!

My most anticipated game is Grimshire! It wasn't really on my radar much until I played the demo and I was hooked! I think it's definitely perfect for people who are fans of farming sims, but also darker vibes.

Fantasy life i ... again. Hopefully it will launch before the Switch 2 even exists. Looking forward to the new Story of Seasons game. I loves the 3DS ones. Hello Kitty game is cute as well and missing (I guess it's not farming). A friend of mine tipped me for that one a while ago. We'll probably play that one.

My top anticipated is the spin-off of a spin-off, in others words Runefactory Guardians of Azuma, though first time I heard of Solarpumk which does also seem interesting as well as Sunkissed city. The last one especially because of the automation parts and the house customization seems to be on a whole different level.

It's a silly pet peeve but I don't like the name "Solarpunk", unless there's a big authority that you will be fighting against, it should be "SolarCore". Because I don't see the "Punk" at all.

Solarpunk usually has origins in post-apocalyptic stories that rely on rebuilding the world using natural resources. If you look up examples of solarpunk, there’s very little conflict in them.

Solarpunk is apt. The “punk” comes from (1) the characters/residents of the world being spunky and resourceful with what they have and (2) the characters fighting against whatever force seeks to destroy their vision of the future. Lastly, it’s called “solarpunk” because the genre mainly exists as an optimistic response to the nihilistic cyberpunk. Calling it solarcore makes it lose those roots.

I love the Story of Seasons franchise but honestly my expectations are on the floor this time. :( PooT was such a flop that I can’t bring myself to hope the next one will be even decent. I even liked RF5 more than PooT and that’s saying something.

That guild master one sound interesting, I undertstand it is mostly text based, I can go with it even if I really wish otherwise. The thing is, the concept of managing a guild is interesting, I like the feeling that I am not the only character in an universe that actually does something, I like managing and sending heroes to do stuff on their own, I really wish there was a "Majesty 3" that is as good as the first rather than the 2nd that kind of flopped.... Anyways, I really want to play that one, I hope this is not yet another amazing game that wont get released in romaji ( letters)... Anyways, I'm also a bit hyped for marvelous' stuff, hoping they actually do a PC version rather that that... whatever they did with RF5 that made the controls and menus unbearably bad on PC... SoS PoOT is cool thou, it seems easier when combat is not as important For RFs I really wish they fixed how monsters help with the farm to be great again rather than the generic "just tame whatever and it will do every chore" mindset we have now... Like, I want to plan my barns, I want to chose monster for their helpfulness as well, nut just a team of fighters, material producers and whatever else will do... Feels too generic, and this used to be such a great feature for the first RFs, like, I need a monster that water my crops, awesome, that Elefun is the one, now it is just like, an ignis? sure go do whatever at the fields, a silver wolf? same thing, another whatever monster, a little dragon? wow, just another random monster, looks cool, but is is the exact same as every other monster...

Not only did i find it massively disappointing (my introduction to the series was Trio of Towns and its the standard by which i judge the rest of the series), but it honestly it made me regret cutting the fomt remake so much slack.

maybe unpopular opinion, is anyone sick of the style of all these games? I don't find any of them particularly nice to look at. pretty sick of generic anime, pretty sick of the kind of "chibi" big head cutesy style where everyone looks like a toddler. I was a little excited about the sunkissed city then I realized it kind of looks like it has the exact assets and palette of stardew, which isn't the best either. story of seasons in particular I'm /extremely/ sick of.

Already pre-ordered the collector's edition for rune factory guardians of azuma and waiting on preorders for fantasy life i. That said, although I love etrian odyssey, I might not wait for reviews on Progress Orders first. Been burned too many times on new IPs. These days, I only get established IPs I'm diehard fan of already (rune factory, fire emblem, ys) day 1. (Aside from fashion dreamer. New IP and while it's not style savvy, I still had a lot of fun in that game)

I want to be excited about Azuma but than I remember Rune Factory 5 which dissapointed me a lot but I am still going to try it. It is rune factory after all. The farming game I am most excited about is tales of Seikyu. It will launch in 2025 in early access but I think it has potential to be good.

How games releasing in early access is a bad thing? It is a bad thing when developers stop working and never release the full version they promised, but that's not the problem of early access as a concept. Nobody makes you play it if you want "experience all the game without waiting for updates", just wait for the full game release.

Still it never hurts to be careful with early access games because there are a lot of bad examples where you never hear from the developers again after they got their money.

I don't think the concept of early access in itself is bad at all, as long as it's done properly. It's just extremely rare to see these first person crafting-survival games start with a full release, so it's refreshing and it shows that the devs are confident in their product. It also allows for the gap between PC and console releases to be much shorter. Someone definitely can wait 1, 2 or 3+ years for a game to fully launch, but I think there's something nice about a game being announced, released, and everybody enjoying the same complete experience together, rather than the whole thing being spread out over several years and a lot of people possibly losing interest by the time it's ready. I play a lot of Early Access games but I see a lot of people disappointed whenever a game is ''released'' they're interested, but then they see they'll have to wait who knows how long to fully enjoy it. So, while EA is not a bad thing, I just think that a full release in this genre is very refreshing.

I'm on thr fence with the new title for SOS. I have all their games since breaking away from Natsume... But the last title really was a let down(I regretted buyin it). Couldn't do the basic stuff like jump.. which was in the previous Trio of Towns.. Their last best title. Hugely disappointed with how soulless the romance events were and how lackluster the outfits were. Especially for the female MC. Don't get me started with the last RF title. I saw all the souless crap that was in the latest SoS title, put in RF as well. Marvelous started to feel like Natsume to me so I literally stopped buying whatev new farming game titles they were releasing. At least I still have the My Time series to play ad a replacement. Until they fix themselves. Because I am so not wasting money on a next SoS or RF until I know it ain't soulless crap.

there are definitely worst farming games but PoPt is just really bland. It is mostly waiting for maschines to get ready and talking to NPCs who have almost zero personalty. But the worst thing in my opinion is the DLC. a whole lot of nothing.
