As we all know it depends on the local police reporting and on economic conditions of people living there. Many incidents don't even get reported for various reasons. But limiting danger4ous places to 10 is not realistic. what about Madrid, Barcelona, Marseilles, Luton, Birmingham, Scunthorpe, Grenoble, Frankfurt,...... the list goes on. Should people feel safe? I think there is no safe place in the world anymore, unless you go to Luxembourg, Switzerland, Vatican,...etc.

I visited Rome last week. It was so overcrowded. All the buses were full and running late so we decided to take an underground metro. As soon as we reached there, some guys started screaming and running out of the station. We had no clue what's happening and there was so much chaos. It was so horrible that I scared to death. My husband and I were trying hard to get our 3 year old son out of the station safely who was sleeping in a stroller. People were pushing each other in order to make a way out. There was such a mess that my son fell down from stroller and got injury in his mouth. We somehow managed to come out of the station. Some people around us told that there was something burning in a metro. Later we realized that it was a scam by some idiots and it wasn't true. Those 10 minutes were the worst of my life and felt like I was in hell. I decided not to visit Rome again in my life.

I'm American and it's bad here. The USA needs it own lists...."cities to stay the hell out of!" This was a list for Americans who travel. All countries are dangerous, it's the tourists that must be aware & not scream "I'm a tourist" by being rude to everyone....people respect the culture where you visit-it is your responsibility to act accordingly not to demand the whole country conforms to you. The attitude you have on a vacation is half the battle of enjoying yourself. Americans if you expect any other country to be just like America you have already set yourself up for a bad vacation when you start complaining your phone plug doesn't work in Europe...lol....just research where you are going & read about the places you will visit...it's not that hard to get great travel tips & how to pack for a trip or cruise...there are thousands on YT alone. Enjoy your trips & and don't get mad at something & ruin a trip for everyone else...people that do that just never travel with them again. My opinion.

I have not been to Latin America, Australia or Greenland. But I can say from my own experience that I have never felt as safe anywhere as in my homeland Slovenia, further in the Swiss Confederation, Austria and Russia! USA, France, Germany have changed a lot for the worse in the last 20 years and the increase in crime is incredible. But on the first 3 fav. places for me are; CH, Russia and Austria! Stay safe!

@VirtualTravelBrian23 күн бұрын
You’re absolutely right-Italy does have a very low homicide rate compared to many countries, including the U.S. The safety concerns mentioned in the video are more focused on issues like organized crime, petty theft, and scams, particularly in tourist-heavy areas. Thank you for sharing your perspective and personal experience! It’s great to hear that you’ve had such positive and safe experiences in Europe. The video’s intent isn’t to suggest that every traveler will encounter issues, but to highlight specific risks or incidents that have been reported, such as pickpocketing in tourist-heavy areas or organized crime activities. It’s true that many safety concerns can be avoided by staying aware and using common sense-something experienced travelers like yourself clearly understand. As for comparisons with the U.S., every region has its unique challenges, and mass shootings in America are indeed a deeply troubling issue. Thank you for sharing your perspective-it’s always impactful to hear from someone with firsthand experience of these places. The rapid changes in some of these countries are indeed shocking, and it’s a stark reminder of how much the world can shift in a relatively short time. Many people do prefer to hold on to an idealized version of places they love, but as you pointed out, the reality can often be very different. It’s unfortunate that the list could be even longer, and it truly is a shame to see such challenges overshadow the beauty and history of these destinations. Hopefully, awareness and action can lead to positive changes in the future. 🌍✨

Thank you for sharing your perspective! It’s always insightful to hear firsthand experiences from someone who has lived in a place long-term. While certain areas in Russia, particularly major cities like Moscow, can feel safe and well-organized for day-to-day life, the concerns mentioned in the video focus on broader issues like geopolitical tensions, organized crime, and specific incidents that have made international headlines. Safety often depends on where you are and the context-what feels safe to residents might be viewed differently by short-term visitors or in certain regions. You raise an excellent point! While Belgium does face challenges like drug trafficking and political demonstrations, it's true that certain issues, such as school shootings or attacks on parliamentary institutions, are thankfully not part of the country's reality. Demonstrations, as you mentioned, can be a sign of a healthy democracy when done peacefully. No place is perfect, but Belgium's stability in these areas is certainly something to appreciate. This is no longer the case as the rental car companies have since made their cars less conspicuous.

Kuljettaja avaa oven oven kaukosäätimellä ja joskus ambulanssien perässä on kilpailevan jengin autoja, joista ammutaan ambulanssin sisään jotta kuljetteva potilas kuolisi.

The problem is that tourists often travel with pink glasses, they forget that the countries visited are real countries with real people with real issues. Heaven on earth just does not exist. European cities, like all cities worldwide, have good and bad neighborhoods, they attract demonstrations and crime. In addition, overtourism has unfortunately destroyed too many places in Europe. Besides having to deal with crowds, touristic areas naturally attract pickpockets and scammers. As far as Europe goes (I'm a dual national, French and Belgian), I'd suggest that nowadays, if you want to experience the real countries, you avoid the cities and go to the countryside and small towns. Anyway, overall Europe remains a safer place than many countries in the world, including the US; the average rate of violent crime is much lower in Europe than in the US.

Reading some comments, I've realized how disconnected some people can be from reality. As a European currently living in the USA, I concur with the cautions highlighted in this video. Europe has changed, and for some, that's a hard pill to swallow. It was once easy to smugly criticize the USA (for many, still is) without introspection. However, the world is evolving; nothing remains constant. Every location has its set of challenges and victories, advantages and disadvantages, making it crucial to stay informed and realistic. I've visited several of the mentioned places (fortunately, my country wasn't listed, but I wouldn't boast about it). There are some really dark things going on in Europe, which are not even mentioned in this video. My heart goes out to Europeans in some of these nations; after all, part of the current situation is not their fault.

The only time my wallet was lifted was at an outdoor flea market in Estonia.

I put safety pins on my pockets for city metros. Back pockets empty. Also I have a pocket that zips that is inside my clothes. My satchel is for my water bottle, hand sanitizer, tissues (allergies), snacks, etc.

I met an elderly Netherland gentleman few years ago. He said when he was a boy, everybody can leave their bicycle everywhere they like without lock it. Nobody will steal it. But now even if you locked your bicycle, they still want to steal it. The crimes were on the rise.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts! It’s true that Belarus has introduced visa-free entry for many visitors, which shows efforts to attract tourists. Many travelers do report feeling safe there, especially in terms of low street crime. That said, the video focuses on broader travel advisories and geopolitical concerns that may affect some travelers' experiences. Safety can mean different things depending on context, but it’s great to hear your perspective!
