Unpopular opinion: The Rogue Cut of X-Men: Days of Future Past is better than the theatrical release. Her scenes, although brief, change the dynamic of the movie. It actually makes more sense for her to do that than Kitty because she's stronger & can handle it better. After seeing this version I wondered why the studio didn't release this version instead.

Not to mention that it also fixed a major plot hole from the theatrical cut. I remember watching it in the theater and wondering how the Sentinels found them. It was never explained. I guess you were supposed to believe they just sensed the mutants or happened to stumble onto them. In THE ROGUE CUT, they show you . . .

Forgot there was a Rogue Cut for that film. In my head, there is a Rogue Cut for the first X-Men film?
@jeromecarrier488724 күн бұрын
@kanedaku no Rogue cut...but she is the focus of the 1st film. Professor X tries to show her how to control her powers while Magneto tries use her to magnify his.

Same here, which is why during me and my friends rewatch of the Fox X-Men series we picked the Rogue Cut.

Better ending for "Z", IMHO, with an intriguing solution for the plague and a suspenseful last half hour or so.

I love showing people the Little Shop ending. So many people I know had no idea that there WAS a different ending, let alone that it was fully filmed.

Oh I love the original ending to the movie. Most of it can be found on KZbin, but I think to see the full thing you need to catch the director's cut.
@thomaspalmer50118 күн бұрын
@@benlevan5645 yep! I have both the original cut and the director's cut. Love em both! But I DO understand why tonally the original ending just doesn't fit right.

Another scene cut from Wizard of Oz, though probably a little less expensive, was Ray Bolger's full dance scene when Scarecrow and Dorothy first meet. That footage does exist, however, and was included in a few compilations that had actual theatrical releases, the first being That's Dancing (1985). I could understand why it was cut because it's a relatively long scene, but it's still worth a watch for Bolger's skill as a dancer and performer.

I, luckily, have never seen the abysmal world war z in it's entirety. The trailer gives it away that it is not even attempting to be an adaptation of the book (which helped me through my grandfather's passing (probably the main reason it's meant so much to me, on top of it being a really good book) ). I truly hope someday we will get a good and faithful adaptation.
@magdalayna1719 күн бұрын
I found the book boring and enjoyed the film adaptation. I agree there's not much connection between the two. I hope you get your faithful adaptation.

@@magdalayna17 I highly recommend the audio book. It's really good. That's how I originally read it. Mark Hamil and John Torturo are part of an amazing cast.

Surprised missing the Spider-Man bank heist. Maguire's first movie has a whole action sequence catching bank robbers in a helicopter which was shown in trailers. Except he catches them between the World Trade Center towers. Whole thing was cut after 9/11 happened.

That wasn't a deleted scene, it was always intended as a promotional trailer

It does say a lot about Little Shop of Horrors that it works with either ending despite the drastic difference in tone between them.

Frank Oz is a criminally slept on director. Can’t believe that after “Little Shop of Horrors” and later “Bowfinger” he didn’t become at least as big as Robert Zemeckis was in the 80’s and 90’s.

Unfortunately, on all of the myriad movie streaming sites out there, you can only find the darker ending of 'Little Shop of Horrors'. NO ONE has the the upbeat theatrical ending, and i have literally looked for YEARS. Note to people who post movies on streaming sites-NOT EVERYONE PREFERS DIRECTOR'S CUTS. Some people prefer the movie they saw at the theater-that was the version they know and love and that's the one they want.

Depends on the movie. Some theatrical cuts are hot garbage. Director cuts fix them.

Another example I can recall of real life events changing a movie's direction is the first Sam Raimi Spider-Man movie. The original teaser trailer showed Spider-Man stopping some criminals in a helicopter by suspending them between the twin towers of the World Trade Center. Before the movie's release though, the 9-11 attacks against the World Trade Center occured. The teaser was pulled from distribution and the twin towers were not shown in the movie. Several productions at the time scrambled to remove images of the towers from their scenes as a result of the attack.
