So in essence they can fire everything they got at once then have to rely on other things like cannon etc. Destroyers are over gunned for their class and don't have alot of staying power due to limited armour and limited ammo, designed to fire then get away which is why they are normally fast for their class.

@@rapidsqualor5367 Possible yes, but the last thing you want is to be hit in the Ammo stores, WW2 had a good amount of fireworks because of a hit on or near where you have ammo stored. Besides it is an option they don't have to fire everything, but the option is there. Reloading takes time and you don't really want to do that in the middle of a battle cause a lot can happen in mere seconds.

Japan's culture has really mellowed out since WW2, so they are no where near as aggressive as they were pre ww2. So unless they can magically start popping out Coordinators and Gundams, they are really a remement of what they used to be. This is the result of any country that has lost a world war, and forced to demilitarize for half a century. Another prime example would be Germany. Imagine if Germany didnt go to WW2, and just tech'd up. They would probably have space ships and orbital space cannons had they not have gone to war, and just tech'd up.

I'm sorry to say that your information is out of date. Zumwalt is now tasked a as deep water destroyer owing to the lack of ammunition for the guns. The 3 ships that are to be delivered come in at $23 billion making each vessel just over $7.3 billion each. Not bad for a failed project and a price that won't be beaten for a very long time.

Its a terrible pity that the Zumwalt is such a terrible disappointment.... its main/fore gun still does not work...one shell for this "rail gun" costs at least 1 million dollars....sadly, the Zumwalt is a white elephant that has cost the tax payer unmercifully...don`t get me wrong, I love the navy, but this ship is as close to a disaster as the terrible predreadnought class BBs the French came up with prior to and even after the commissioning of HMS Dreadnought. The cost over runs alone have killed the Zumwalt...talked to a Navy expert a few days ago and he said he doubts if they will ever actually get the Zumwalt working right and properly commissioned..its just a horrible mess he said.

That must be 3 billion canadian dollors for the Austrailian Hobart class!!?? Id rather have 3 chinese type 55 than 1 Hobart or 2 British type 45 + change otherwise! The Zumwalt is a joke financially! Those 2 deck guns can only fire very special rounds ( they are very good rounds which are more a kin to super smart guided rounds like high ex,frag,air burst ect ect) however each round costs just under a million dollars each!! So training with the guns is very expensive! Why you would ever need your deck guns to do this anyway?? Its got over 100 guided missile silo's as its armamants, anyway 4.2 billion dollars for the Zumwalt practically makes the ship worthless in combat as its too expensive to lose even in a country that has a 600 billion dollar defense budget! 3 Zumwalts that cost 12.6 billion dollars or 8 Arleigh Burke class and 600 million dollars in change! Double that to 6 zumwalt or 17 A-Burke class, 9-Zum or 25 A'B, you get the point, the US has about 65 A-Burke class now so replacing these with Zumwalt would be way to expensive and thats why its been cancelled, its a shame as it looks amazing! Id get 1 normal deck gun and forger about trying to make it stealthy, that would cut costs, it might only cost 2.1 billion then with prices dropping with more orders and newer quicker building methods over time, it becomes very affordable for the US to build 90 ships to replace both the Arleigh burke and Ticanderoga class desroyers and cruisers which due to them not being nuclear can be sold on to countries like Brazil or India who would snap them up for there growing navys, it would recoup a lot of dollars!! Why are so many destroyers only carry 8 anti ship missles? The Korean SeiJong has 16, so obviously it is easily done!! And why are many destroyers only carry one helicopter? If even an Indian design ship can carry two, then European makers can certainly do the same, afterall two helicopters can be regarded as doubling whatever capability one helicopter can provide.

Yeah it is so advanced that it has no anti-submarine missiles, no land attack missiles and no effective anti-ship missiles (the Harpoon missiles are pretty much useless against any modern ship). The Type 45 is only good for Air Defence, nothing else. It's not a multi role ship. And even in the anti air role it isn't really that much better than most other modern frigtes and destroyers either. It carries only 48 missiles, so in a saturation attack it will quickly run out of ammo. Many other ships have just as good or even better Air Defence capability but with the addition of also having powerful long range anti-ship and anti-submarine missiles too (and in some cases even Land Attack Cruise missiles) None of which the Type 45 is having
