Some other named I would include are guys like Malcolm Young (definitely one of the most underrated guitarists), Prince, Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age, Tommy Shaw from Styx, Tony Hicks from The Hollies and even guys like George Harrison and John Lennon from The Beatles (my reasoning for that is that George’s guitar parts always complimente the songs that Lennon and Paul McCartney write and he can do some amazing solos (All My Loving, I Saw Her Standing There, Till There Was You, Let It Be, The End, etc. and especially with his solo material like his slide playing on My Sweet Lord) and as for Lennon when he’s not doing rhythm guitar also a really good lead player on songs like You Can’t Do That (the first song he ever played lead on, actually), Get Back, I Want You (She’s So Heavy), Come Together, etc. and even some of his solo work)

Adrian Borland is extremely underrated. He wasn’t flashy, but he knew when to not play and let the bass take over and he wrote some of the catchiest riffs of the 80s. The Sound From the Lions Mouth is my favorite rock album that I recommend people to check out if they haven’t heard it before.

Steve Clark, John Sykes, Vivian Campbell, nobody talks about them that much, specially Steve Clark, he had the bests riffs out there in the 80's and it's such a shame that after all of the amazing work he did he died and nobody talks about him anymore

Been searching for a comment like this! Totally agree. Clark definitely had some amazing riffs that really influenced the sound of Def Leppard. I'm a huge fan of 'the Riffmaster's work. He really is a forgotten fretmaster, and I feel like fans of Def Leppard are some of the few that know about him and how good he was. Also agree about Skyes and Campbell, both under appreciated as well!
