your guy's chemistry is so good. I've been watching for years, and it seems (to me at least) that rex's nosing and tasting notes have gotten so much better and then add Daniel's knowledge and expertise. It's amazing when I started watching these amazing channels I was a kracken and Coke type of dude, since then .... i've had everythingthing from laphroaig 10 to some more local whiskeys that even you guys haven't featured on the channel, and now i can confidently say I myself am I bourbon guy (Angels Envy cask strength is my dream bottle) . So thank you whiskey tribe and the Whiskey Vault for educating me. A little different direction: my Whisky goal is a new (at least new to me) whisky cabinet, with dark wood, stained glass in the doors, taller, tiered shelves so I can see the back row, a pull-out pour shelf, and hanging storage for Glencairns and copitas. Yep, I want new furniture. It’ll give me a larger storage space, offering new...opportunities.

Got signed off of my tattoo apprenticeship last night and celebrated with my fiance at my new favourite whisky bar in town. With something special to celebrate I ordered the George T Stagg so I can provide my notes! Amazing timing haha! Nose: strong and warm. Toffee and molasses with a hint of brown sugar sweetness. Palate: unreal. Toffee, molasses and dark chocolate. I got a bunch of tobacco on the back end too. I've never experienced such a rich and intense palate experience from a whisky before. Finish: longgg finish full of molasses and a little bit of tobacco and leather. This bourbon was like getting a massive hug from a 300+ lb 7ft tall man. Massive, engulfing and just amazing hahaha! So thrilled to have tried it!

2017 George T Stagg is my favorite bottle ever! 129.2 proof, almost 16 years old. I’m on my 3rd bottle of it and getting sad that it’s almost gone. I’m not good with tasting notes, but if you ever have a chance at a taste, do it! The oak tastes is definitely there, maybe leather too, but there is also a sweetness that I can’t place. In my book, it’s number 1

Eagle Rare 17 year is my favorite whiskey I've ever tasted. Had the privelage of having it last fall. Its 101 proof I believe vs the 90 proof that the 10 year is Notes from what I remember Nose: Caramel, Oak, Leather Palate: Leather, Oak, Cinnamon and Caramel Finish: medium long finish with sweet oak being the main note

The first whisky I properly tried was the 32 Dream Cask last year. A friend brought some whisky to work on World Whisky Day..... I actually preferred the Dunvilles PX cask that we also tried that afternoon. Needless to say, I got some funny looks from the whisky lovers for not appreciating the dream cask. At least I can always say it was my first whisky, which started a pure love affair

I never liked bourbon until I had a Bookers. I fell in love with whiskey in Ireland (especially Red Breast, although I can only get the pricey 12-year here). I love Scotch, and I fell in love in with Japanese whiskey in Taiwan, but I only got a flavor for Rye and Bourbon recently. Bookers is my favorite, but Angels' envy and Bullitt and both great.Wild Turkey rye is one that I really like yet no one else ever seems to mention. Japanese whiskeys were great when they were cheap (much like the Irish).

Not sure if you guys will read this, but i dabbled in a bit of bourbon last year, but got super into it this year. Last year I went to a local bar and they had Pappy 15, William L. Weller, George T Stagg and i had an ounce of each... tasting notes. Pappy 15 Nose: wood, vanilla, caramel, cinnamon, and a bit of dried fruit Taste: Barrel, vanilla and dried fruit. Takes a bit to get used to, especially if you're not a fan of a ton of barrel (I am, but to those who aren't, you've been warned) but amazing. George T. Stagg Nose: caramel, caramel, and cherries Taste: once you get pass the burn, you get a ton of chocolate... I know many may say this is common, but it's almost like this was put into oak barrels filled with chocolate. Decadent and very creamy. William L. Weller Nose: caramel, cinnamon, and light berries Taste: wood, followed by cinnamon and intense (and i mean intense) apple pie. I didn't have to search for this note... just like Stagg, this hits you right away and it is intense with apple pie. It stays on the palate for quite some time as well. Phenomenal. On the Georgia T Stag, it started off on the nose and palate very woody. But once you let it simmer on the tongue for a moment it gets more toward a spiced fruit, sweet tobacco or leather. I added in some water and that opened up a bit of vanilla on the tongue. The finish is certainly one of the most intense I’ve ever got, the woodiness sat for minutes on end and anytime I swallowed that spicy plum like flavor would pop back in only for a moment.

Daniel, I want to add on your point about Ocotomore being something else entirely! Last year I took 2 novice whiskey drinkers to a whisky show with basically anything you can think of. Since they were newbies they didn't even know what peated whiskey was. So well I gave them some bunnahabhain thinking it was too harsh but still enough peat to be enjoyable.... disaster! Put them off Ardbeg, laphroaig etc they wouldn't even try it the smell was enough to put them off. Well Octomore was at the show and I personally was so eager to try it that they thought they would give it a go. ....... they frikken loved it afterwards we had to go back and find ardbeg and springbank. My own theory is that octomore is what it is, it's not afraid to be what it was designed to be. Its comfortable knowing that not everyone is going to like it. Its confidence makes its attractive and I think people can pick up on that. Anyway thought I'd share my story.

I did some work at Flemmings in San Antonio last year. I told the manager I admired the bottles of Pappy in the cellar. He proceeded to tell me it only comes out on special Pappy events that are a flat fee and are all poured into cocktails.... my heart broke a little bit

As a Canadian many of the whiskeys on this list are very difficult to acquire in Canada however I did have 4 and I tasted them along with the 2 of you.
