I'm not sure why this guy is so bothered by the final shot of Prisoner of Azkaban. Like, I can see how it might be a tad jarring, a small departure in tone, but certainly not worth a spot on a list like this.

The worst thing about the 'happy' ending of Law-Abiding Citizen is that it implies that the lawyer got away with murder, that the police and justice system were either too incompetent or corrupt to identify and bring him to justice, completely undermining any potential moral highground message and leaving the main character once again betrayed and screwed over by the system. And yes, it was murder. Taking the bomb and turning it over to the police for forensic analysis to tie it to mc? Due process. Taking the bomb and relocating it to the cell for it to detonate there? 100% murder. Yes, he didn't press the switch/timer, but he knew, without doubt, that the bomb would kill someone if left there.

Unfriended was built around the violence of watching your friends being killed in front of you , if the film had ended with the ghost leaving her to live with what she'd done ie a very psychological ending would have made zero sense with the style of the rest of the film and I think youre grasping at straws and trying to fill a pretty pointless list by adding the Harry Potter ending , you literally say it doesnt ruin a very good film yet look at the title of the video "sigh"

The funny thing to me is that my issue is that a bunch of kids were saved, but they are then left to their own devices to survive. Also, they seem perfectly fine with having lost everyone they knew and loved.

I assume to make it even more mysterious. If you could see the other side then it wouldn't be a mystery and even walking into a gate of hellfire wouldn't leave a LOT to the immagination. The heaven like flash was probably meant to confuse you and make people speculate ... which is a shit way to end just about any film. They try to replace an actual ending with fan imagination, which just feels hollow to me.

I actually really liked Unfriended and the shot of the hands suddenly closing the screen imho is REALLY unnerving. Should've heard Laura say something cryptic about living with her guilt and cut to black there. I remember saying out loud "don't do the ghost face... Don't do the ghost fa- Goddamnit."

This one’s pretty obscure, but I found myself in hysterics when I saw the final shot: “I Drink Your Blood” Basically a typical ridiculous 70s Exploitation-Horror about a group of Devil-worshipping hippies who accidentally contract rabies and terrorize a small town. It’s honestly a very fun film (if you don’t take it too seriously)… but then there’s the horrifically anti-climactic ending… the infected are killed off by the authorities and the three surviving protagonists are carted into an ambulance. Cut to: the annoying little boy of the film running happily through a field with happy music and then credits… zero lessons acknowledged or learned, zero mention of the repercussions, or how the struggling town recovered. “Like a clean shit where you don’t have to wipe.” 🤣 Honestly, genuinely fun film if you like those kinds of films, but the ending is easily one of the laziest excuses for tying things up that I’ve ever seen. The only redeeming quality is that the “running happily through a field” shot is so ridiculously out of place and terrible, that it’s genuinely hilarious 😂

Matrix Reloaded - EVERYONE knew it was going to end on a cliffhanger. EVERYONE knew Revolutions was coming six months later. Your reasoning is bad and you should feel bad. The Ninth Gate - wtf were you watching? He clearly goes to hell in the end. It’s blatantly obvious based on, I don’t know, literally EVERYTHING that happened in the film before that? I remember a completely different ending to "9th gate", or maybe they just cut the movie off prematurely? I remember the ending was him returning to the book store, and there were totally different people there than he expected, then they tore a book shelf down and a different version of the last image fell to the floor. That was it.

Yes, The Amazing Spiderman 2 ending may have just been sequel bait, but the point of it wasn't the fight itself, it was that the fight was happening at all after Gwen's death, the outcome doesn't matter. You can't end a Spider-Man movie with Spidey having given up, one of the central tenets of all iterations of the wall crawler is that no matter how bad he gets beat down (physically and mentally), as long as he draws breath, he gets back up.

As usual, epic fail. Paranormal Activity's ending was changed by the filmmakers at the suggestion of Steven Spielberg after they screened the film for him. The studio wasn't involved.

It was a perfect ending! After EVERYTHING Mr. X went through, finally getting out of the game, avoided getting clipped by a professional, killing an informer so he and his team don't get caught. After all that it was a woman that took him down! Most comical ending I've ever seen. 😂

The final scene of Die Hard where Al’s completely unnecessary and largely ignored subplot is resolved when he kills Karl is made only worse when you remember that Karl was hung by his neck for several minutes before being miraculously revived for the scene.
