A quick lesson in movie industry economics: The theater owners keep half of the box office receipts. That means that a film which cost $100 million to make needs to take in $200 million to beak even. And those budget figures don’t count marketing expenses. So, the films that you mention as breaking even still lost dump truck loads of money.

I actually liked joker 2 and argylle Both are victims of advertising issues Spoilers for both . . . . . . . . . . If joker 2 (starting with the first) was marketed as more of the origin of the idea of the joker, it would've been better. If Argylle was marketed as part of the Kingsman universe and judged as well, more people would've gone to see it and love it for the nonsensical theatrics it is

Longlegs was vastly superior to Joker 2. Staring at a blank screen for 2 hours would be preferable to watching Joker 2 again. Worst high budget movie of the year.
