The Muay Thai Sangha Fighting Arts School is located in Chiang Mai, North Thailand. The training program includes empty hand Muay Chaiya & Muay Thai fighting and Krabi Krabong Thai Weapons. *Some facts about Muay Korat* General Amnat Pookrisuk is a senior military officer who in his spare time teaches his own interpretations of Muay Veti (Muay Thai) to foreigners. Throughout his military career he has never fought in a boxing ring. He was never qualified as a Muay Thai teacher (Krob Kru) and is only an admirer of this sport. His famous „water buffalo technique“ comes from the (supposedly fictional) stories of Ajarn Ket Sriyapai. Amnat likes to teach outside Thailand when he is on a business trip. Because he is a senior member of the military, he cannot be prosecuted. He knows many Thaiboxers through his participation in the betting business at Lumpini Stadium. He only learned Judo and Taekwondo from his military training. He mixed these styles with normal Muay Thai techniques and exports them abroad. Occasionally he claims to be able to do Ling Lom, but this is not true. Muay Korat was never in a Muay Thai fight and can neither be called an ancient nor a pure Thai martial art. Southeast Asian is alway a mixture of cultures, there’s no such thing is purity. Weapons and our culture are based on the Ramayana culture( based on old Hindu) and the Chinese and the Malay have been in the Thai kingdom since the old days in both business(as merchant through the Silk Road) and religious practice. So, are the Japanese came as a merchant also, therefore not just Thai are influence through those sphere of the East Asian and the Malay art. Laos, Cambodian, Burma, and Champa(Vietnam) are influence through the same culture as well. Even, the practice of carrying a keris or krid in thai are practice among our noblemen of the time, moreover the “ Panji tale” of the java island are shared throughout that part of the world, which keris are presented throughout the Ramayana or the Ramakian play. As long as it practical that all it need, my people have lived till this days and never been colonized by any European countries. That can speak for itself.
