@@herokme Thanks, I saw that. I ordered from Smallrig last week and heard nothing from them. I emailed them and they were not clear when they would ship to me. I just looked at their website again, they now have an estimated ship date. Leaving the country for 5 weeks in January and hope to get them by that time. I was just wondering if you had ordered from someplace I wasn't aware of. Did they ship it by mail ? Thanks for the reply !

the new 16-55 f2.8 would be a great all around lens. i’m personally using a 35mm f1.8 as my primary “shoot everything” lens but you may or may not find a single focal length limiting

Definitely gonna buy one of them brackets! Also i need some advice! Im a first time user in the fuji system with my xm5. Been using the camera pretty often and im having so much trouble getting the camera to focus on peoples faces in group photos. Ive tried switching it to zone, and wide focus but its always 50/50. I have eye detect on and in a group photo of like 5 people, it detects only 3 of them and leaves other 2 blurry. I use the 18mm 1.4 lens with it, any advice on getting better focus in group photos? My gfs daughters bday is coming up and im already scared to bring this camera to it because the group photos are iffy.

if 3 people’s faces are in focus and 2 aren’t, it means your depth of field is too shallow. so you have two options: 1. you either increase your aperture (f stop) so that it gets everyone on focus. there’s no exact number that will work, but you could start at like f2.8 and increase from there. 2. make sure everyone in the group is lined up in a row. usually out of focus means some people are farther in front or behind other people i would do a combination of the two. make sure people are lined up in a row, AND increase f stop a bit. it has nothing to do with the camera or eye detect. eye detect, regardless of which brand, won’t help you get everyone in focus if the depth of field is too shallow and people aren’t lined up properly

if you get the whole charger, they have a cable with it, but no plug (from what i remember). i chose the xm5 for cheaper price, interchangeable lens, and more compact body. i think the biggest deal breaker for me is the interchangeable lens though. i like being able to switch lenses depending on what i’m shooting

the smallrig thumb grip makes it impossible to use the Q button though. Yes you can move the Q button elsewhere (record button?) but on a body that already has limited Fn buttons it's not worth losing one for me. Luckily, unlike the X100v/vii, the back has enough bigger ridge for my thumb I don't need it. It'll be nice when someone design's one that's not taller than the body (and hooks in pockets) and allows access to the Q button.

i think depends on use case. i’ve been shooting with the xm5 since the launch date, and i’ve barely touched the Q button, probably less than 5 times. i feel like it just depends on how often you’re using it

@@herokme I've also had mine since launch. Long term I'll use Q less but while learning the new AF and dialing in jpeg settings it's awful nice to have. It's just a bummer they didn't design the grip better though so we could have both. Hopefully someone nails it eventually.

I had the same issue with the Q button too. My solution was to setup the “swipe down” on the screen to access the Q menu. I no longer use the Q physical button and swipe down on the screen instead. 😊 I hope this works for you too.
