I definitely want to try a Eucomis next year. I planted an Astrantia and ornamental onions for the first time this year, so beautiful. One of my favourites was a beautiful Gaura, flowered for months and when cut back gave another lovely flush of flowers. I am so looking forward to Spring when everything starts to grow again and I can divide some of the perennials. Love your channel, gives me lots of ideas!

Lots of great tips to get a lovely summer display. I’ve never tried eucomis I think I may try it next year.
@Adams-Gardening-GuidesАй бұрын
You should! They are lovely. I’ve grown a little of flowering bulbs that originate in South Africa and Eucomis are my clear favourite. There are several species from dwarf ones to quite tall ones and the plant breeders continue to develop some beautiful new varieties. So do your research. Enjoy!

Thank you Adam sharing your beautiful garden. I love dahlia, delphinium but they are consumed by snails & slugs if I don’t frequently refresh the blue stuff to prevent these creatures from having them. Are are companion plants that can be grown around them to reduce traffic of these crunchy slimy babies? Thanks
@Adams-Gardening-GuidesАй бұрын
Aren’t they a nuisance. I’m not aware of any companion plants that will keep slugs and snails away. I go out on nightly slug hunts during the growing season to check plants and borders and collect any I find. On some nights I’ve collected over 150! No wonder some ‘tasty’ plants struggle to survive!

Hi Adam, good morning. During the introduction to your video you scanned across a lilac blue flowered plant that has leaf and flow spurs a bit like a day lilly. What is that plant please? I am making notes for plants to buy next year for our back garden. Many thanks
@Adams-Gardening-GuidesАй бұрын
Do you mean the plant on my patio at about 26seconds into the video? This is Agapanthus ‘Blue Storm’, perfect in a pot, reliable bloomer that I’ve had in a pot for about 20 years now, and which regularly produces 50-60 flower stems through summer. If it’s another plant you need an ID for them please send the time it appears in the video. Happy gardening, and thanks for subscribing!

Hi Adam. Yes, that was the one, thank you. I checked the time. Duly noted to my ever-growing perrenial wish list 😄
