Some great series on this list! Books of Babel took me by surprise with how much I enjoyed the quirky intricacies of the novels! Best of luck on your Malazan journey. I’m reading book 9 now and it’s been a wild ride 😅

It was one that I had not heard about at all but came across when I was looking up fantasy series and thought it sounded so good. Glad to hear a positive recommendation for it!

So many of these are on my radar. Not necessarily for 2025 but eventually. I had no idea Red Rising was YA!

I’ve seen people argue either way and I can find anything from the publisher that lists it as YA. From what I can tell it straddles the line between books for older teens and books for adults looking for an easier read.

I picked up the first Dune this weekend. I’m hoping it makes me fall in love with science fiction.

Going to agree with the other commentor, Red Rising isn't YA because of its content, it was easy to read and moves at a pretty fast pace. I loved the Suneater series it has epic world building for a Sci-Fi series. The later books do get kind of dark though, mentally and a bit of gore. One day I'll start Malazan and Murderbot as well, maybe this year will be the year. 😅 Good luck with all the series.

Some good ones on here as well as ones I plan to get to myself. The First Law is one of my favorite series of all time. I just want to point out that Red Rising is far from YA. I don't know why that misconception is going around lately other than the fact that book 1 has a bit of a "Hunger Games" style set-up, but I just don't want you to be too caught off guard.

Good to know. As I commented elsewhere, I've heard arguments both ways. Those in the YA camp mostly seem to be pointing to the plot and characters whereas you seem to be implying actual content being more mature. Appreciate the heads up.
