Eli and Peyton actually led their teams to the SB and are much bigger names then Bradshaws.
@jacklandon99337 жыл бұрын
Oh yeah, true... and they have four more Super Bowls than my family. But there are a number of guys that have won 2 or more, the fact that they have 4 combined isn't that impressive in context. Terry Bradshaw led the Steelers to 4 titles in 6 years, so his 'family' has the same number of rings as the Manning family. As do a number of other Steelers. As does Tom Brady. And Charles Haley's family has five, I believe. I do think Peyton was a better QB than Bradshaw. Eli, not so much.
@jacklandon99337 жыл бұрын
Bradshaw hasn't played in almost 40 years. If you think Eli is a bigger name now than Bradshaw was in the 70s, you don't know what you are talking about. And Peyton gets an awful lot of credit as one of the best ever for someone that only won two titles. Peyton was a better QB than Bradshaw. Eli is not. The game has changed considerably, so if you try to quote Eli's stats vs. Bradshaw's, you'll prove even more definitively that you don't know what you are talking about. Bradshaw led the Steeler offense to 4 titles in 6 years in the 70s, as much as Eli led the Giants but twice as many championships.
@jonjone6617 жыл бұрын
Jack Landon yea but Bradshaw had some HOF wide receivers to throw too and in that era they were as primetime as wife receivers could get. Not to mention a great receiving threat at running back. Eli Manning hasn't had a great wide receiver until now. But playing qb before the Mel Blount rule and all this roughing the qb crap now does mean quite a lot.

Eli as a top15 QB of all time? Seriously? There isn't a statistic in what he is top15 even among active players!
@beelz0017 жыл бұрын
pass completion 7th all time 3rd among active, passing yards 8th all time 3rd among active, passing tds 7th all time 3rd active, game winning drives 7th all time 3rd active, comebacks 6th all time 2nd active. So you weren't just wrong you were no where near accurate.
@sgtGiggsy7 жыл бұрын
beelz001 You do know these all are TOTALS, right? Look at his AVARAGES! There are 20 active QBs who had at least 1500 pass attempts, and has better QB rating than him. There are 19 active QBs with more than 1500 pass attempts, who have better accuracy than him. There are 23 active QBs with more than 1500 pass attempts who have less tendency to give the ball over than him. Sure he is high up in totals since he has played a very long time, and not injury prone, but his performance constantly was below avarage. Other than his two Super Bowl wins, he has only three PO games, and he was awful in all of them. Sure, he had two good POs, both were Super Bowl wins, but he is nowhere near the best QBs even now, let alone an all time list.
@beelz0017 жыл бұрын
you're original statement is still false even if you list his fault, and yes he has them, no one is saying he doesn't. To your point of him playing for a long time and that's why he's high on the all time lists, the people above him have or did play more games and the people just below him have similar if not the same time in the league. When you take into account the skills of the players surrounding qb's Eli's stats are all boosted to #1 in the league, he's done more with less than any other player and when the games on the line there are few who are as good.
@sgtGiggsy7 жыл бұрын
beelz001 My original statement wasn't false, just needed a little correction, as I though it was clear that I was talking about his avarages. Totals always in every sport has more to do with the length of the career than the skill. Robert Parrish scored the 26th most points, and grabbed the 8th most rebounds in the history of NBA, but have you ever heard anybody saying that he is a top30 player of all time? And about the other thing, yes, the people above him on the all-time lists, played more games than him. That's true, BUT, most of them have much bigger lead than what seems to be possible to surpass by Eli's avarages. Peyton played only 70 games more, and threw 222 more TDs (to surpass, more than 3TD/G is needed), Favre, 104 games more, 191 more TDs (to surpass, almost 2 TD/G). Brees 32 games more, and threw 141 more TDs (to surpass more than 4TD/G), Brady 36 games more, and threw 132 more TDs (to surpass, almost 4 TD/G). And the ones below Eli? Rivers played 21 games less, and threw only 9 less TDs. Rotlisberger played 15 games less, and threw only 20 less TDs. Rodgers? He played 49 games less, and threw only 28 less TDs. While Eli is the only 2000s QB among the top15 pass attempts, whose completion rate is below 60%. And what did you mean by taking into account the players around him? His recievers? Cause this year he has an Odell Beckham, a Victor Cruz, and a rather promising rookie (Shepard), and still his pass completion rate is only 62.9% which puts him on the 20th place this year, his QBR is 87.8 which puts him on the 22th place this year, while he is great in throwing interceptions, cause his interception rate is the 7th biggest in the league. TD rate? The 12th. Passing yards? 14th. All these things while he gets sacked only 3.6% of his dropbacks, which is the 6th least in this year. So basicly he has a superstar, a former superstar, and a talented rookie reciever, plus an oline that protects him well, and he still is far from the current NFL elite. More precisely, he's outside the best active top15, in more aspects than he is in. And his former recievers? He had "nobodies" like Martellus Bennet, Plaxico Burress, Jeremy Shockey, Amani Toomer, Hakeem Nicks. Not to mention that he had superstar running backs by his side, like Tiki Barber, Ahmad Bradshaw, Brandon Jacobs. So what exactly you meant by the lack of quality of players around him? And if he really is that great when that's needed, then why the Giants had only two POs in the last eight years? So no, you absolutely can't take ANYTHING into account that makes Eli's stats end up at #1. Again, he can't be in the top10 with quality recieving core and good oline, what the fuck else would a QB need?
