So I am a game developer and I can explain the lines from the explosion . Basically mincraft does a lot of ray-casts. Minecraft only destroys the raycasted blocks and does not make a sphere instead.

Fun fact: You can change the scale/size of the wither in vanilla minecraft the same way you can with slimes phantoms and magma cubes *I have no idea why though as unlike those 3 the wither has no code functionality that changes his size naturally*

I think the reason larger explosions have lines is because the code lines that cause explosions to destroy blocks has a limit (probably 8 or 16) that will basically make a farland like area around the actual explosion beyond that limit.

12:10 i think it is like that beacuse there are lines that go out the length of the size of the explosion or something and every block it touches gets turned to air and maybe drops, it was probably originally meant for things smaller where they were not noticed, also this is why it probably all lags or something when there are so many

If you want to know why those lines appear with the big tnt, its because when it explodes, it sends out a bunch of lines in all directions to a certain range, and you don't see the lines normally because they are way smaller than normal blocks

the reason explosions always have those lines is because when minecraft calculates an explosion, it sends out rays to see what to explode, and in a bigger scale, those rays become more noticeable.

It's a late comment but the reason for the way big explosions work (with the lines) is (I think) when it explodes, it sends out a bunch of 'lines' around it so it knows how much damage to do, but I'm not 100% sure so if someone does see this and wants to add on to it then they can

The boat is cuz it makes speed relative to size. They are all going the same speed, at their own sizes. The small boat appears to go slower because we are bigger, it takes the same time to travel blocks of its own size. The same for the bigger boat, the game calculates its block distance based on blocks its own size and tada your boat speeds up because travelinging the same blocks takes further. Take a paper, draw 3 circles big medium and small. Behind those circles draw another 9 of the same size. Your boat is those first circles the movement the other circles. If your boat travels 2 circles per second, you quickly see the difference in actual distance traveled. This is why you slow down if you shrink and speed up if you enlarge, its distance relative to size.

I think the lines come from Minecraft's explosion algorithm, I think the lanes appear because the algorithm was intended for larger explosion sizes
