03:00 no need to remove those screws. I installed the cage without removing them. Also, this cage is reducing the airflow and the ninja v fans are spinning faster. It is flashed with the SSD leaving no opening for air to be sucked in.

Tassos Photography Yes, in fact, I removed them because I had seen a SmallRig video where they did so. Then, I looked at the screws and wondered why they required we remove them. I guess the utility in doing so for me was to realize that I could adjust the spring tension. Still though, thank you for pointing that out for our viewers. 😎👍 What I did not notice was the change in airflow. I’ll keep a closer eye now. What I can say is that I haven’t had any heat-induced shutdowns. Obviously though, cooler with less effort is better for the life of the monitor, and quieter is better for achieving higher quality audio. Thanks again Tassos Photography! :)

You need to address the problem of the room echo. The content is fine.

@@LivingTech A lav mic will help. There are also some audio plug-in in Premiere and Resolve that can help.

Thanks Gerald. I do have a Sennheiser AVX Lav Mic, but did not use it in this particular video. I also use a Beachtek DXA PRO+ camera audio adapter with it, which really good, but just more setup time, and Lav AVX batteries need to be pre-charged, which doesn't always fit with my reality. :) (I should also have a wired lav mic, I know). Other times I've used the AVX, but the batteries ran out during recording, so I've had to fall back to the camera mic which is excruciatingly bad (obviously, meant more for syncing up audio with video in post than capturing sound in high fidelity). I do what I can in Adobe Audition in post, but still not great. It's always better to optimize it at capture time. For me, sound is challenging in general because l'm in different rooms, often cold from an acoustics perspective (monitors, metal, bare drywall, etc.), I'm a one-person setup (I have to put on the headphones, do a sound check, try to maximize SNR as I'm doing everything else, etc.). Anyway, I super appreciate your feedback, and am endeavoring to increase my attention to audio, and my experience/facility with making it sound good. :) Thanks again!

Hi Viru! Thanks for your comments. :) This is actually my favourite SmallRig accessory! As I wrote to somebody else just now, mounting the Ninja V seems flimsy on its own. With this cage, however, it’s both a rock solid connection, and it protects the Ninja V. SmallRig never lets me down!

Great cage. A little pricey considered Ninja V only costs 4-5 times as much.

Sorry, I’m only seeing this now. Thank you for watching. All I can say is that I love this. Using the monitor without the cage seems flimsy. With the cage, game-changer (for me). Rock solid, and expensive monitor protected. 👍

@@LivingTech Do you know if the wd blue 2tb ssd is compatible with the atomos ninja v
@LivingTech
@LivingTech 2 жыл бұрын
I cannot see any confirmation of this on the Atomos compatibility list, but I'm guessing yes, as the 500GB and 1TB drives are compatible when used in conjunction with the Master Caddy II. Make sure you format using the Ninja V itself, rather than your computer, and test the video, before relying on it to work for something important to you. Here's the list: s3-ap-southeast-2.amazonaws.com/uploads.atomos.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/28012352/Supported-Media_NINJA.pdf

Damn, you scared me with this like request. Nice video - thx. Is there a way to mount Ninja V on a side of camera to look like articulating scree? I do not see any mounting holes on either side of the cage :(.

Hi DentargPL! Thanks for watching. Sorry for the delay, I was not notified about your comment! OK, I just did a visual inspection for you. The top and bottom sides is of the bracket are Nato rails, each with 1/4-20 and 3/8” threaded holes. The bottom has an ARRI connection as well. To this bottom side I attach my articulating arm (NATO clamp on the camera end, ARRI connection on the Ninja V cage end. However, at the bottom right side of the cage, as you look at the screen, there is a 3/8” threaded hole. Correspondingly, there are 3/8” and 1/4” threaded holes on the bottom Left and bottom right sides of the Sony A7R III cage. So, I think there are lots of options for you. Also, I just used my articulating arm to have the monitor come out to the side. It works perfectly. If you want pics, send me an email, at livingtech9@gmail.com.
