I’m so happy you got Dragon’s Dogma on here. Super underrated and love going back into it to play it at any time. Aside from its monsters and painstaking travel time, the amount of customization you can put into your character in terms of your appearance as well as your combat class is absolutely astounding. It’s story isn’t going to be necessarily “new” but it’s still unique, packed with lore and throws you for loops both in great and hilarious ways.

I just finished Days Gone, what a good game. I remember the first time I ran into a horde and how baffling it was to me...I remember I thought "How the hell will I ever beat one of these, it has gotta be almost impossible"...then I beat one, two...three and so on and so forth...then I met the sawmill horde, and again I thought "There is no way I can beat this horde..."...then I did. That game has such an amazing "progression" system and the feeling of actually becoming stronger both in a digital sense AND real-life sense, as far as learning how to do things to increase your chances of survival is simply amazing. I really hope they make a sequel to this game, so good.

Does Days Gone have something which will randomly generate new maps? This is critical because a fixed map means two or maybe three runs and it's game over. I'm all into games with endless replay value.

For real. The first few hours in the game I went full stealth barely taking on the freaks, then eventually you learn more about them and get stronger and it makes the game much easier. Outward is definitely worth a look. There are no levels it's all reliant on your gear, ability and choosing your battles. You can collapse from being to hot or to cold, depending on the area. And with the DLC there are 5 area maps to explore. Although land nav can be a pain if you are not good at reading maps, there is no map marker for the player so you have to rely on landmarks to find where you are. Didn't like it at first but am definitely glad I played it, it's now one of my favorites.

@hazzar77843 жыл бұрын
@@BNJT sure. But a survival game, where the developers said one of the points of making it was to not hold the players hand, a casual mode would fly in the face of it. I know I might be a little late, but I personally think an honorable mention could've been Generation Zero. In Generation Zero, you're constantly roaming around a huge map while constantly watching out for robots, which can range from a couple to a large group of them per interaction, and they can also vary in size, from being as small as your feet to the size of a building. Some of the larger robots can also spawn smaller robots over and over again. As you roam around, you have no idea when or where they'll spawn, so you're always watching out for them. Just thought that I'd mention it.

ARK needs a mention on this list. Even for a veteran player, starting from scratch in that game can take hours because all it takes is one group of tenacious raptors or a carno and all of your progress is gone and you have to move to a new location. I don't remember The Forest's world being all that dangerous. Almost entirely empty besides occasional scouts and patrols unless you seriously piss off the cannibals, which can take some doing. I once built a base directly in their largest village and it took days for them to do anything about it. I'd say Elex deserves a place on this list. Enemies everywhere and almost all of them can kick your ass because of how long it takes your character to become even moderately powerful. You have to make progress through the game world almost at a snail's pace for a good long while.
