@@jazzyj7834 Elden ring is great, but I disagree on this. How many times do you run around a cliff edge to find it simply ends in a death fall in Elden Ring? I would say 8/10 times. That 2/10 times always feels really special so you still need to check each time on the off chance, but In DD you can be sure there will be at least a harspud sauce for your trouble. Not to say Elden Ring isn't an amazing exploration game, but the goat in rewarding minor curiosity is DD in my opinion. Elden ring takes the cake for world exploration as a whole though.

If I can go back and always find new things that surprise me for over a decade I definitely can’t say it has very little content. And note I said goat for rewarding minor curiosity not exploration as a whole.

BOTW get this too at least for me, you never feel like your exploration was a waste of time. So I really hope if we ever get to see a DD2 they put a lot of efforts in mechanics of exploration and such because I think the combat until this day is the best in the action-rpg genre.

I absolutely love southern gransys. I go there every playthrough to just grind out vocations in one of the most gorgeous locations I've ever been in a video game. There's something oddly captivating about it, the fact that there's no quests there has a lot to do with it. It's just nature, there's no people, no business to be done there, just you, the woods, and the 'wildlife'- it's like negative space. I've never been anywhere like it in an rpg. It's kinda magical.

It fells like an area you're not supposed to be in, never thought about it. What made the experience greater for me is the fact that I didn't go to the area until a new game+, so I was like "what's the deal with this place I missed?" Turns out I reached gran soren before unlocking the main gate with the hydra's head quest, guards didn't let me inside the city tho. Haha

First game I got lost in the southwest without fast travel and before the hydrahead quest, so I thought "might as well push on and see how far I can get." Eventually travelled through the mine until I finally reached the closed gates of Gran Soren where I decided to turn back home. I saved and died many times, but I left like a babe in the woods and came back a man made of muscles. A grand adventure without any quest to guide me. What an amazing game.

I always thought Blood water beach was a smuggler's port since the loot is pretty expensive and Madeline has an escort quest there.

if you trigger the quest to get Madeline's dagger. If you forge it..she wont ask for it back. It has more physical damage than the heaven Key...less the magic. She leave's after you give her $50K. I havnt gone to blood water ( ive escorted her there before) If you revibe Julian. He'll give you his shield. Afterward..he'll ask you to escort him to the great wall. The game/Story is UN-Finhsed. You never killed the Duke. You only injured him. Anyways...Im thinking Madeline might open a new shop in a different city...ect Or Bloodwater is where you take passage to a different world/map If we'll ever get D.D. 2

@@kyle21843 I hope so. Technology has gotten better in 10 years. D.D. isnt perfect. There's plenty of room for improvements. even in the Combat.. sort of like Odyessy's SKILL/WEAPONs option You can simply click the D pad..to use more SKILLS.. so rather than only 3 -ea wack kills...ect at a time you can have 6-ea You can also click D pad to swap between..swore/Dagger on the fly without pausing the game. while the BOW is always equip I play M/H. using Glaive only...it's mostly due to playing D.D. scaling/moutning enemies..or getting air during combat. Magic staff/spears would work for me in D.D. 2 for me.. Double vaulting onto a UR dragon or flying creatures would be sickly/FUN.lol

For me, Bloodwater beach was an "arrival point" for Reynard's father. Reynard mentions he is not from Gransys and his father chased the hydra that killed his older sister before his birth. Excellent video, Rift. Sending you my love, brother. Keep it up. Blessings

strangely this game I never got bored of, each run while similar I found something new , a combo a enemy weakness a new location. many is not told to you, your hand is not held, yet if you keep your eyes open the tales tell themselves and hidden nooks pull you in. damn I would pay extra for a new game.

Now we get a second chance, the fact that they're using the RE Engine is crazy enough, but now Capcom is giving the team their full support, can't wait for future updates on DD2 development. I'm looking forward to dark themed dungeons, full of horrors that really put you on edge, not just because of the difficulty of the enemies, but the ambience and history

Capcom really should allow their teams far more support than they do. When they get they get their chances, their games are works of art (well, as close as we can get now a days, I’d say Square Enix is their closest competitor) I got the chance to play through Devil May Cry 5 recently, and it makes me regret having never touched the series until recently (although I guess it was only wrapped nicely recently, and the previous games may have been unsatisfying if DMC 5 wasn’t made. But now it has, so it makes the whole story just awesome :) )

I mean Capcom sees that DD community hasn't gone dry yet, and many are still questioning the same thing, DD2.. Even the modding community is still sorta active.. last i checked there's a few wgo still doing dd mod in 2021-2022.

The monsters being more intelligent than they seem was probably going to play a role when species selection was an option but getting cut because of time. We basically see remnants of what path each race would have when you consider that the goblin controlled fort in the fortress quest had holes that a dwarf or gnome could go in, looking at the art book shows Beastmen were going to be an option and it probably would have played a part in the player being accepted as a true beastmen since the beast king was a human on a stone throne implying that they succeeded after going through some combat trial. There's also the possibility of cut weapons because one part of the art book shows a battle sketch with a fighter wielding a spear: and last I checked, Fighters are limited to only the sword yet Mystic Knights have a mace implying that there was probably going to be more weapon options for the fighter to use if the shield isn't cutting it. Hopefully we get some news or a preview on the sequel and if the team succeeded on adding what they originally envisioned the game to have.

Not really..There's holes in many places..if you're low level Magic Archer. You could shoot richet bolts through them.lmao it's cool to play the game BLIND the first time. I ran out of OIL...and DRAKE scared the living out of me while I was trying to run away from globins.. I almost fell out of my chair.lmao You know how hell hounds grab you..Then drag you...far...far away. The first time I ran into an elder org...I got wet/LIGHTS OUT..It grab me and ran...far far away from my pawns into whatever the heck room I wasnt familar to. (With the spooky music.lmao) Aside from lv3 weapons/armors..You can collect rings to off set the min/max builds...or build your charecter and PAWNS different ways. Example...lv2 TROPHY armor set..will give you at total of +80 Magic. It was a BIOTH to get the BOOTS (allows to carry more WEIGHT) I dont really like the looks of lv3 armors for strider. My pawn wears the complete trophy armor with wrynhunt mantle. She also is equip with 2-ea master rings..with +90 magic ea..with other attributes...I equip her with the dragon ire's ( FIRE) and Heaven Key ( holy) She;s super LIGHT and will SCALE whatever...moves faster and less stamina. I'll also equip my RENT a PAWN fighter with enchanted with whatever sheild/sword..and master 90+ magic each... I'll swap out thier weapons and rings...(FORGE myself )..if need be. So my rented pawns arnt throw away, to me. If I wear the trophy armor set too....that's 270-280 + Magic. Before i STACK The MAGIC is when I MAGIC BALANCE..it'll also magic stack my pawns. They're DEADLY...can shoot anything out of the sky..be it GHOST or a DISC mounted in places you cant get to or dragons. They can Kill the dark bishop/curse dragons by themselves... I just stack/buff..roll around..ect There's also a HIDDEN ROOM in that combat area. There's also a HOLE/WINDOW u can shoot through... If you're not powerful enough...the magic globins will require PHYSICAL HIT.. Sometimes...they PISS me OFF..im just looting CHEST..those damn globins are spamming magic..My Bolts WILL Kill them...or at the very least BOUNCE them around..if you're not powerful enough , yet. Sometimes I dont want to run all the way down , around and up again..just to get to those damn globins.lmao You can also farm DEATH like that..There's a place you can HIDE shoot richet bolts through....if you're NOT powerful enough yet. Or jump in a hanging CAGE..when the CRUSE draggon spawns in.. with crapload of flying creatures...A couple will SUCK ur BLOOD..if you let them.lol You can also get master RINGS with STRENGTH and STAGGER/Knock down power increase..if you dont want to use enchanted weapons.

Dragon Dogma is so much better and more FUN..No matter how big the bosses are in ER..you wack them all on the Ankel.That's how I killed the elden beast...Run/Roll N wack the ankel ( BORING) With Diamon...I can shoot him it the forehead, scale it, cast different magic, swap between my daggers and bow without jerking off with the D-pad. Shoot the UR dragon out of the sky...make it do a belly flop... Then scale it's head and stab it's eyes out, for kicks N giggle... watch it tries to fling me off like a flea..while charector is flinging like rag doll.lmao

@@oneeyemonster3262 I know exactly what you ean. I was honestly hoping ER would add something more unique to the formula other than a jump button. I have pretty much forgotten that game with "only" 250 hours into it and my opinion is actually rather mediocre on the game. DD however still has me fascinated. I just keep coming back to it and have 550 hours now. The combat never gets old. Looking at some stuff from DDON (wish I could have played it), the combat only has more and more potential upwards. Hopefully we'll see some first gameplay of DD2 in 2023 and maybe a release in 2024^^

@@primisto7530 I was crossing my fingers...They would get the buttons layout right in ER.( before it came out) They disappointed me. The jumping in ER is AWFUL..compare to other games. In D.D. you can Jump off a statue/rock..ect Grab on to a harpy's tail..ect You can climb/pull up yourself on to rock/ledges..When you land...you roll out of it...( like a lot of games) i do all kinds of rolling, dodging, jumping, block/perry...ect during combat in D.D. ( and other games) without having to goof around with the D-pad or multiple keyboard command. i think that's why people complain the bosses are too fast in ER. They're Not..if you dont have mess around with the D-pad During combat..alot of things happen fast. You're trying to shave mm sec off of spell casting time or weapon swing. ..but waste 3-5 sec or totally goof with the D-PAD. If you miss select....you need to click the D-pad 4-5 more times to cycle through the menu. I can sprint N slice..through enemies..do a backward JUMP or do whatever ground slam magic skills..Then Whip my bow...or for kicks and giggles ..pickup a dead enemy and toss it at the next target. If my pawn gets in the way...I toss them too. lmao That's NOT going to happen in ER. You can even play catch..Pick up objects , enemies or even your pawn in D.D. I hope they give us spears/glaive in D.D.2 ( able to do combo mid air like M.H.)

Southern gransys is easily one of, if not my favorite areas of the Dragon's Dogma map. So many beautiful details and great places to visit. So dangerous yet peaceful. Usually end up going to southern gransys soon after beating the hydra, instead of doing the cart mission towards Gran Soren. Really appreciate this video

Funny thing - Madeline in her first escort quest lets it slip that there are " other ways " to the capital than the blocked roads. So, I stumbled into the ancient quarry out of curiosity & came out on the other side, and voila - I was in North Gransys, even before the Hydra incident.

Tbh, it's not necessary that drake holds goblins as slaves. It's likely that drake uses goblins through fear, but it also might be something akin to a symbiosis. Drake provides defense for goblins near Shadow Fort and they hunt for him and such.

I myself particularly took a LOT of time to discover the Cavern of Delusion, since it's quite well hidden. You gotta make your way to that Golem spot before Bloodwater beach, then descend into a ditch nearby, where there are a mine spot From there, just keep going down and along the beach, and voila, cave >D It's impressive how much content Itsuno has been cutted off before the launch or game approval =< I only hope we see a announce this May 20ish or something

I would visit southern Gransys quite often before I discovered how awesome the Bitterblack Isle is (I pretty much live there now, it's the ultimate holiday destination for Arisen, most characters are dying to get out, but I'm the opposite). I would go around harvesting grapes to ferment in order to make red wine, I learned that it is an overpowered curitive item when one is a lower level. Strongwarish was another nice treat for the most inquisitive of travellers. I didn't know about Kingwarish at the time, but I favour this herb now better than anything in the game because of how light it is, I prefer it over Lordly tonic and salubrious brew, doesn't beat Auspicious Incense, but that stuff can weigh one down if one carries too much of it, I do it anyway because I love my crew, I want them to stay in perfect health. I learned about the noon flower early on, but it took a few faceplants to get it. Anothet reason I like this area is because it's open, and for the most part untamed. I long knew that Cyclops could be tamed by both people and goblins, but the idea of a chimera sharing a similar relationship with the Saurians is mind blowing, perhaps they hunt together, they may share their food with this creature so that it may protect their nests. I love Saurians, there's just something about their cute rounded faces. I always figured that they had some sentience to them, they after all work together and set traps to snare prey or intruders. Got to say, watching that one random Cyclops constantly try to jump up that cliff gave me a laugh. Recently I saw one jammed between a tree and the cliff face, it constantly fell on it's back, got up and rinse and repeat, at least until my team dispatched it. I managed to catch this on camera. Thank you for another awesome video, it's hard to believe Dragon's Dogma is turning ten soon!

@@The_Rift I'm still hanging out for the Dragon's Dogma sequel, hopefully it will come out on PS4 when it does, I have one of those now, I'll be able to play Elden Ring too! Funny thing is, I love Skyrim and Dragon's Dogma both, but I'm more stoked about the Anaversery of Dragon's Dogma. I think this game had more of an impact on me, I guess because of the up close and personal boss fights, and the battle with Grigori and the Ur Dragon/Urdy (I call him grisly chops) are the best one's I've experience, the fight with Grigori gets you right in the feels, but with the Ur Dragon, it started out so tense for me because I was underleveled when I first faced him, but it's just so satisfying to take him down in one go when I finally optimised my class and my stats. Oh and Death, he scared the heck out of me and kept wiping out my Pawns, but I learned more about him and how to deal with him and he became my favourite character overall. Anyway, Dragon's Dogma is a beautiful game and I love it to pieces, I was glad I was introduced to it back in high school. And I'm glad that I found your channel so I can learn more about my favourite game, and enjoy Dragon's Dogma content with others.

Minus the climbing aspect. man I loved that so much! Favorite moments are when I was fighting a griffin or other flying beast, they fly up into the air with me still hanging on, slashing away, then it careens through the air to the ground with me still clutching it's back. so cool!

Just finished it for the first time and found your channel looking for videos on it. Great stuff. I really like the world in this game, how you can stumble into an interesting place or action at every corner, and if you think you can find something hidden somewhere, you will. I just think the map was badly undercooked though, since there are so many interesting side quests and stories to be told in these places, yet nothing happens, or at best we get ANOTHER escort mission. But yeah, if they can repeat the good parts, DD2 has an enormous potential, and i hope they can fully flesh it out this time.

This is the one and only RPG I never get tired of replaying the whole campaign through, which I have done at least a dozen times, not even my heavily modded Skyrim gets that place (I have probably finished Skyrim from start to finish 3 or 4 times, and I have on PC 300 mods working properly) I just love Dragon's Dogma, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the second entry being confirmed, soooo happy, can't wait. PD: Bought the game for my Xbox Series S a couple of days ago, even though I already have it on PC (with mods as well), PS4 and of course, since 2012 on my Xbox360 a physical copy.

@@imsunnybaby the ones i remember is that the goblins say more screwed up stuff when you hear them talk, some of the bitter black isle has some more graphic detail whenit comes to the tablet we collect to find stories, and some of the siren and the other bird like creature has a more erotic look and they sound very more erotic as well.

The only thing I dislike about the game is the lack of multiple saves, it means that if I want to start a new character I have to make a new Xbox profile so I don't overwrite the Character I've been playing for 100+ hours Being able to have multiple saves means I can enjoy the challenge as a low level again and build another character focusing on a different vocation earlier on whilst being able to jump back into my maxed out character at any time

Technically you don't have to explore the southwest side of gransys at all if you only do two of the wyrm hunt quests thus skipping the shadow fort. Kinda crazy that so much content is missable. Also not every game needs a ton of quests to encourage you to explore the world. Shadow of the Colossus is basically a boss rush but I still enjoy just taking my time exploring every inch of that world. I have over 500 hours in Dragon's Dogma and still find random new nooks and crannies sometimes. I think some people just lack the gene for exploration and discovery nowadays. Sorry for the rambling, too much sugar in my tea this morning.

As much as I want to play DD2 asap, I hope they'll take their time to really flesh out Hideaki Itsunos vision. Much of his inspiration came from oblivion and you can tell by some of remnants of environmental storytelling that bethesda was famous for. If they add a dash of the witcher 3 worldbuilding too, I think they could create the perfect game.

more than likely the goblins living around the lesser drake near the Shadow Fort is either A. Capcom just didn't make any real friendly fire or actual NPC on NPC aggro for these types of encounters or B. it's like how Grigori had the goblins that bring in your wife/husband and talk about how meaningless the goblins lives are other than foraging and surviving. I'd like to think that the lesser Drake doesn't actively kill the goblins because it believes the goblins are so far beneath it that it's just a waste of time to kill them.

the answer is very simple - dragon's dogma is not a monster hunter, but a game as 99% of games, where enemies do not fight against each other. There is no storytelling here but game development decision

I have some questions, i can't find an answer anywhere. We know that a great dragon is an arisen who failed against the seneschal, but when an arisen successfully defeat him and become the new seneschal.. how the next great dragon is created to create new arisen's ? And how the first great dragon was created ? Also, if an arisen defeat the great dragon but choose to stay on earth to live peacefully, how the next great dragon will be created ? And without great dragon, how the seneschal choose the next seneschal ? It's important because the never ending cycle cannot exist without arisen's and great dragons since the seneschals don't want to be seneschal for the eternity.
