I once thought of a really cute DIY for parents. If you're good at carving, why not try carving a pacifier out of vegetables such as carrots? While your baby sucks on the carrot, they also suck in it's nutrients. But then I realised... The baby's saliva might soften the carrot to the point where it's so soft; that the 'nipple' part could break off, fall into their throat, get lodged, and suffocate the baby. Not such a good idea after all...
