It's an old tradition to spill blood at the start of construction. I witnessed it a few times, on an auspicious date the laborers will kill a native chicken and letting the blood drip over the structural footings. The footings will also follow the position of the bakunawa (a kind of dragon).

There's even an old Filipino horror movie that tells about how bridges were made with street or lost or kidnapped kid's blood. As much as I want to deny it, it may've been partly true because my grandmother used to tell us that same story so we don't wander at night.

I still believe that until now. My grandma used to said that it makes bridges more sttonger.

I think you're confusing Asean to Asian or SEA, ASEAN is the Association of South East Asian Nation (SEA mean South East Asia)

I actually like that you're reacting a lot on ASEAN countries (not sure if it's your cup of tea), but I can tell your great interest on our culture. This region of the world (Southeast Asia) is diverse. Despite a lot of differences (from food, culture, language, religion etc.) we're still binded together.

That White lady on Balete Drive may have changed address😆. I used to work near the area in 2010-2011, where I often travel at the wee hours. I didn't see a thing. The road has become more commercialized over the years.

An interesting trait of the San Juanico Bridge that wasn't mentioned that might explain the legend is that the Marcoses were horrific dictators that saw many people tortured and killed under their rule, and the many disappearances of children were probably entirely factual, but lingered on in myth that they were used in the bridge. HOWEVER another terrifying REAL LIFE story of human bodies being used in a building during the Marcos regime does exist - look up the Manila Film Centre tragedy, where Imelda wanted a film centre to be built so urgently that they buried a bunch of people alive after an accident in its construction.

I actually encounter Maria Labo. She has super strength. The men in our area tried to confront and captured her but she was to strong and fast. She even passed by in front of our house. Someone threw a bigstone to her while passing us but she didnt even flicked from the hit. This was happened around 2008. I will never forget that event.

When you smell something like a goat during the night but there's not a single goat near you, that's probably a headless priest wanting to let you know that he's there. They're usually harmless but there were some occasions where they hurt people.

Bit hard to believe most of these stories, there maybe something like it but over the years people like to add their little bit to make the stories more interesting, the one about the bridge seems likely as Indonesians were primitive people like the Australiean Aboriginals and American Indians with their stories
