The North Sentinelese have been contacted before. In 1880, a British colonial administrator (Portman) landed on the island with some men and kidnapped six Sentinelese - an elderly couple and four children. They fell ill and the couple died. The children were returned to the island with assorted gifts. Yes it is known that there are strict requirements to visit but often historians have been allowed access in recent years, it is not like people outside the church are banned.
