At Goodwill, I love bringing home beautiful ceramic tissue box covers for cache pots. Flip them upside down, put screening over the smaller hole, and it also holds soil VERY well if you want to plant directly into the box.

I am in search of a chocolate anthrium. I have had my white anthrium for 2 year’s. I want to put my white and chocolate anthrium in the same pot...I think it would look beautiful together. I love mixing gold, with white and wicker for my plants 🪴 helps keep my mood lifted.

Those green cups were uranium glass! Pretty rare to find in a thrift store- very cool history.

I studied ceramics in college and there was similarly a uranium glaze that was used a lot, it was one of the only way to get a good bright yellows, oranges, lime greens on high fire ceramics But potters used to just keep big bags of radioactive uranium oxide around. Fiesta ware used to use it in their bright orange glaze. This was sort of before they realized the dangers of radiation. But once the U.S government started using it in nuclear bombs, they shut down all the mines or restricted them to just producing for the military. The military also went around confiscating any Uranium Oxide that was being used by glass and ceramic companies. But you can still find some of the old glass and ceramics. Apparently it it used to pretty cheap, but now it's crazy expensive, but you can't just go out and buy it anymore.

I had a long day at work and when I saw that you posted a thrifting/big box video I was thrilled! Your videos are one of my favorite ways to unwind - thanks so much for your hard work. P.s. - also the lime green cups were uranium glass. Some people are crazy for it. It glows under a black light. I see it at thrift stores from time to time.

That little terra cotta vase thing looks like a hyacinth vase where you put a bulb in the top part for forcing. I finally got my drill bits that cut the holes in the bottom and it really opened up thrifting for me, since i can now put a drainage hole in pretty much anything.

Our Home Depot cleared out their house plants a month ago. Even the succulents. Not much of a selection at our Lowe’s either. I’m having plant shopping withdrawals 😊

That happened here two years ago when the HD in this area switched plant suppliers. The new supplier does provide them with nicer looking plants overall. However the new supplier does not buy from Costa Farms at all. So the Home Depots in Colorado no longer stock Costa Farms plants. I can't say that's what is happening at yours but it's possible.
