I'm just disappointed that Sony only remaster GOW3. They should have remaster the entire Greek saga the moment they revealed the 2018 GOW. Or at least, just remaster the main trilogy in the Greek saga. Capcom done a good job remastering all DMC games, even the emo DmC one as well

@@shawziiz5031the problem is that they did, technically, already remaster the OG games. There was the god of war collections for ps3, where volume 1 includes the first 2 games and volume 2 included the psp games. All were HD, with trophies and smoother. However, it’s stuck on PS3, and Sony has been quite reluctant to move anything from PS3. The killzone and resistance games are also stuck on that console.

Bioshock collection and the ezio collection are the only plus because all dlc since servers are shut down for tgat generation of console now its pretty much the only way to get the full experience but other then that no there not worth it in the upgrade department because they look and play exactly the same you can legit build a ps3 for cheaper then a ps4 so unless you care about the dlc its not worth the upgrade at all oh and I know its cheaper because I actually did it my PS3 is built with my own hands and its didnt even cost me but a little over $100 in some parts I had laying around 🤷

All of these remasters can be argued that they were needed and welcomed because of the fact that Backwards Compatibility was absent on the PS4. I love being able to play 7th gen games on current gen.

1:52 Arkham Asylum and Arkham City out in 2009 and 2011 respectively. They were remastered to play on the next gen consoles. So calling it pointless is trivial. And they were released by rocksteady, who made Arkham Knight. WB has nothing to do with it. It’s just they’re ip, (as in the characters and settings of Batman/Gotham), Cause they own DC comics. WB Montreal made origins so they have to release a remastered version. And that has complications. Just my two cents on Batman Arkham Series

I'll say semi-pointless because instead of just the 3rd game, they should have remaster the entire Greek saga, or at least the main trilogy. That way, the new player that come from the Norse saga can have a full experience of Kratos story arc. Capcom done a good job remastering all DMC games, even the DmC emo one

God of War 3 remastered and TLOU Remastered (PS4 / 2014) wasn't pointless at all. If they didn't remaster these games they would be stuck on PS3 (TLOU until 2022 Remake on PS5) and GoW3 still stuck on PS3 to this day.

The first time I played it was on PS4 didn’t play the original PS3 version until a little later to see what the difference was I imagine I’m no the only person that originally tried The Last Of Us Remastered for the first time on PS4 people gotta remember that the original Last Of Us game out literally 5 or 6 months before the PS4 came out so not everyone played it on PS3 so I wouldn’t consider the remastered version pointless now the Remake is a different story lol

I didn't play The Last of Us until the remastered game. One thing about that game is that it has a native 4K mode on the PS4 Pro. 4K 30fps anyway.

Yeah unfortunately not everyone is a graphics nut I got both version unless you actually look your not even gonna notice not worth a remaster at all aside from the dlc included because of the online store being shut down and all for the ps3 that's pretty much the only reason only very hard core nerds carry on about graphics 😂

Uncharted the Nathan Drake collection, as much as I love the game for introducing me to the series, there wasn't really a big visual upgrade compared to the ps3 edition of the 3 games

The Dark Souls remaster was absolutely necessary for one glaring reason, Blighttown. That area was infamous for its horrendous frame rate and the remaster made it playable. The difference is night and day and it really affects how enjoyable the section is to go through.

I for one was extremely grateful for the God Of War 3 Remastered. Bringing the 3rd God Of War game to the PS4 allowed me to play it. Before then the only God Of War games that I had owned & played were for the PSP. I did play some demos for God Of War 1 and God Of War 2. My only complaint about the God Of War 3 Remastered is that while inside Gaia there are some graphical issues that were never fixed.

The Last of Us 1 was out at the very end of the PS3! It's like Zelda Breath of the Wild on Switch while it was out first on WII-U. It's just that TLOU was able to have an upgrade for the one who hasn't bought the game yet! The PS5 one was the POINTLESS! Not the PS4!

PS4 doesn't allow backwards compatibility, nor does PS5 for PS3 games, so Return to Arkham could be the only way some can experience it The computer version of Skyrim doesn't even get a new release, they just update it whether you want it or not "Wont we make more money by releasing a new version" "Yes, but there's just something satisfying about braking player's mods" lol 🤪 Ha ha, I set the app manifest for Skyrim to read only until my mods are updated At least The Ezio Collection on PS4 fixed the muted audio I experienced on 360 for Assassin's Creed II Sequence 12 & Sequence 13, like when Ezio questions that Irish Monk about the theif missing a finger. I don't really care about multiplayer

I love playing Return to Arkham, The Nathan Drake Collection, and The Ezio Collection on my PS4. And I can't wait to play the Tomb Raider Trilogy and Legacy of Thieves on my PS5

The Ezio Collection is one of my favorite remastered games on PS4. I have such a amazing experience with The Ezio Trilogy (Brotherhood was my favorite one), and Ezio Auditore is one my personal favorite AC/Videogame Characters/Protagonists/Assassins. But if there's a remastered game that it needs to be fixed or updated is Assassin's Creed III:Remastered. I have a bit of a issue with that game and it was some of the glitches and bugs. Is there atleast an fixed updated version of that game by any means?

Resident Evil Archives is the real answer. They were ports of Resident Evil Remake and Zero on the Wii. Consoles that had GameCube backwards compatibility and they were released before GameCube backwards compatibility was taken out of Wiis. You might say "Well Wii discs hold more strogage than GameCube discs" well yes dear readers...the Wii version had more compression artifacts in the FMVs than the GameCube originals.

I disagree with Wonderful 101 needing to be on the list and bring pointless, because it was only the Wii U, which was a console no one bought outside of the very small Nintendo faithful (like myself, admittedly), and because of that, barely anyone played the game. So the remaster coming not only to the Switch but also the PS4 was more than welcome, especially because it is a really great game that deserved way more attention than it got.

My hunt for Platinum games spammed years! I have played Wiutifull Joe on ps2 emulator when it was finally playable, fantastic game. I have played Okami for the first time on ps4 after wanting it for so many years, it holds up so well, sublime game.Played the first Baionetta when it finally came to ps4, another fantastic game ( not as great as okami but up there ), still waiting on the other ones. Nier Automata was the only Platinum game that I have played on launch, we all know what a masterpiece that game is. So imagine my sadness when I saw what kind of game the Wonderful 101 was and how desperate I was for that game. When the remaster arrived, it was so much more that I could hope for! GTA V being remastered TWICE was a straight up cash grab. All these other remasters made it convenient for PS4 users to get a hold of the Arkham games(screw Origins), the Bioshock Games, and GOW 3. Can’t really say a lot of these were “pointless.”

None of these games deserves to be on this list except for GoW3 and TLOU. Both of these games were already developed in 1080p/60fps but were capped at 720p/30fps on PS3. When they were ported over to PS4-yes they are ports, NOT remasters-the developers just turned off the cap so essentially they did NOTHING new for these games. They were just unlocked to run on better hardware much like how many PS4 games received free updates to run on PS5. Every other games on this list had graphical overhaul requiring redrawing the geometry and texture.

I know it's a remake but I don't care. The recent Dead Space release was pointless. The game mostly feels the same and 90% of the time comes off as a remaster except Isaac talks now and they replaced the actors which removes Peter Mensah so I'm sticking to the original. I wish that energy could have gone into a new game in the franchise instead.

I agree with most of them, but Ezio Collection is a great way to play Ezio games of Assassin's Creed series. It's the only way to play them on a PS4/PS5, with all DLCs. I admit I never cared for multiplayer in those games, the narrative is the strong point. Even if it's pointless, I'm happy every time GTA V and Skyrim are released. But Skyrim is already 100% ready to be played with 2016 version, I don't think 2021 version is an improvement. I mean, for PC players a new remaster can be a disappointment, but for a console user, it could be the only way to play a game.

As long as the remaster isn’t a quick & lazy cash grab that doesn’t add anything I don’t have an issue with remasters, the last of us remastered is the best example of a good remaster, it didn’t just give a fresh look to the graphics but it added things like commentary, audio made changes & others. Side not there was only one remaster for last of us, a remake isn’t a remaster

The Last Of Us 2014 remastered on PlayStation 4 made sense because The Last Of Us came out in 2013 on PlayStation 3 and that the same year the PlayStation 4 came out so to only have it on PlayStation 3 means that people that want to play The Last of Us needed a PlayStation 3 because it was not backwards compatible.

If the game is better then before it's not pointless - and Ezio Collection, Bioshock plus some other Games are in 60FPS now. At least on XS. Some are only available on PS4/5 through the remasters.
