10 Pokemon that NEED Megas in Pokemon Legends Z-A

A few days ago in the Pokemon Presents 2024, Gamefreak revealed that the Kalos region is returning in the newly teased Pokemon Legends Z-A game. And with that comes the return of Mega Evolution. Which Pokemon deserves megas now? In this top ten, I list ten Pokemon that I think deserve mega evolutions and have a shot of getting that coveted mega evolution.

I am absolutely INSANELY happy, for this. I hope it is as awesome as Legends Arceus! Edit: Also.... the reason Incineroar is "loved/hated" is because it is a cool idea, but really REALLY bad for the competitive scene. Like one of the most controversial mons because it is the PERFECT support mon... which means it is on nearly every team. Also, 100% agree, Flygon NEEDS one. Personally I would love to see a joke one in the form of Dunsparce/Dudunsparce.... the name? Obviously Mega-Dudunsparce... but it would INSTANTLY be known as Dududunsparce.

You brought up a good concern about abilities for Megas since they were not present in Legends Arceus. The Mega Evos also didn't have abilities in the Let's Go games. This reminded me that Legends Arceus had limited move pools. Hopefully, these restrictions won't exist in Legends Z-A. I agree with your choices for Mega Evolution. I think that if Nidoking, Meganium, Empoleon, and Incineroar were to receive Megas, then I think Megas should be also be given to Nidoqueen, Johtonian Typhlosion, Feraligatr, Torterra, Infernape, Primarina, and Alolan Decidueye. This makes me wonder if we'll see in Legends Z-A any of the regional variants introduced in the Alola games, Sword/Shield, Legends Arceus, or Scarlet/Violet. If they don't receive a regular evolution in this upcoming game, some of the Pokémon that I'd like to see receive a Mega Evolution are: Flygon, Milotic, Chesnaught, Delphox, Greninja, Xerneas, Yveltal, Zygarde, Dragonite, Kalosian Goodra, Hawlucha, each evolution of Eevee, Kantonian Raichu, Mew(either a Mega Evolution or a Primal Reversion), Johtonian Slowking, Froslass, Aegislash, Pyroar, Clawitzer, Noivern, Dragalge, Trevenant, Heliolisk, Gogoat, and Dedenne. I definitely believe that Diancie should not be the only Pokémon from Kalos with a Mega. I listed Johtonian Slowking & Froslass because not only did Kantonian Slowbro & Glalie(who are Pokémon with branching evolutions) receive Mega Evolutions, but Gardevoir & Gallade each received Megas, and they're branching evolutions. I never want Pikachu(especially Ash's Pikachu) and Eevee to receive a Mega Evolution. I also never want the Kanto starters(especially Charizard), the Hoenn starters, or Mewtwo to receive new, additional Mega Evolutions. Neither Charizard nor Mewtwo need a third Mega. Despite the change to Battle Bond, I'd rather have any Greninja with the Battle Bond ability not be capable of Mega Evolving. I'd rather they give back the form change and base stat increase as well as have a Mega Greninja exist as a separate outlet of power. Otherwise, Ash-Greninja was a complete waste of time, energy, resources, and creativity that should've never been conceived.

Hopefully new megas come which are just simply adedd to future games like if flygon gets an mega they don't make it that it lost its mega in the future so in current time in can not mega evolve....idk what excuse they can make for new mega to not be present in x and y but they definitely can do something about it so whenever another sequel of x and y comes those mega would be included

Your Mega ability concern is actually a pretty valid concern that I hadn’t considered. I hope that this game has a more complex battling systems than Legends Arceus. Mega Pokémon were meant to be used in battle, so a more complex battle system will be needed to justify Mega Evolution.

I’m guessing since we’re gonna only be in one huge city, I’ll be surprised if we get around the same amount of battles in PLA or less

@@thunderdrum325 I think that you are saying that since we are in a giant city, there will be more people and therefore more trainer battles than there were in Pokemon Legends Arceus. I agree with that, there is also the fact that the people of Hisui were afraid of wild Pokemon while the Lumiose City project is all about living alongside Pokemon, so the people in this game will likely be already comfortable with working with Pokemon.

Xerneas and Yveltal (and maybe zygarde) should get megas as they are the mascots for x and y and do need something to stand out

If dragonite doesn’t get a mega I will cry. Literally every other pseudo from gen 2-6 have gotten somethign but poor dragonite has gotten absolutely nothing

Idk about you guys but i really want an mega for aromatis or some improvement in its stats or maybe make it an ace of the villian so that it gets some attention i think it really deserves one

Incineroar needs absolutely doesn't need a mega. The thing is already the long running king of PVP it DOES NOT NEED A MEGA or it will rule PVP forever!!! Give the fire mega to one of the fire starters that's falling behind in the powercurve like Infernape or Tepig.

The reason why I can see it getting a mega is because of Mega Blaziken. Honestly, Mega Blaziken wasn't as good as regular Blaizken, and didn't really need a mega back in the day. I can see the same thing panning out for Incenaroar, where it gets a mega because it's popular, but ultimately the regular form is still superior. Though if I had to hope for one thing for Inceneroar, it'd be a regional variant.

@@eonforest4 idk to me I guess it's like you said. Megas were created to boost Pokemon that were falling behind in the power curve and Incenaeor doesn't fit that bill. I do wonder if we'll even get regional variants of the starters this time or just megas? If there are variants of the starters then are the megas only for the variants or for the normal version as well?
