Not going to act like I knew of JPEGMAFIA from the start, but I did listen to his 2nd studio album when it dropped. When I heard "Baby I'm Bleeding", I knew he was going to succeed. The beat itself was like nothing I'd ever heard before. Peggy didn't care about making an album to fit a mold. He created sounds that were so far out from what was "accepted" and ran with it, fully confident. Although it was a super experimental project that most likely wasn't ever going to be played on the radio, he stayed true to himself. That authenticity just makes him cool as hell. And fast forward to his most recent album - dude deserves his flowers!

On a recent interview DIIV basically said the same thing Peggy said - “music was the only thing I had to fall back on”. Maybe why both are such great artists.

I've heard his name before. listened to a song or two, but now I want to dive in. I appreciate how he fills up space, it's so raw and he's so feral when creating. Massive energy coming from this guy. I fuck w it.

4:40 means a lot because I have gone to two of Peggy's concerts and the production is not there. But that is not something I am looking for. He provides fulfillment through his performance and music regardless how the stage looks.
