Cody v Roman exists in its own separate way and considering that it seems like Cody chose to lose at mania ( he chose to come in at 30 in the rumble which was the first crumb of storytelling that he’ll lose at mania) this story will be an all timer by itself so I think they are trying to distinguish the two as separate storylines.

I was at the Garden for the rumble where John Cena returned as the surprise #30 entrant to the rumble. The "world's most famous arena" literally exploded. It was before social media and wrestling content creators were established to anyway near the extent they are now, so it was something NOBODY in the crowd saw coming in any way. Like Simon said, a torn pec takes at least 6+ months and Cena injured his 3 months ago. The pop was something I'll never forget. Surprises like that are usually either spoiled online or at the very least heavily rumored/speculated by the time they go down, which isn't something that used to happen. It's one of the sad parts of all the coverage and behind the scenes access wrestling receives now online. Those magical surprises like Cena returning are all but a thing of the past since its usually spoiled in advance online now 😢

"for a while there wwe was predictable" if by "a while" you mean 40+ years, then yes it certainly was...there is unpredictable moments, but for the most part very predictable. honestly i'm surprised how unknown it is if Cody wins or Roman wins... but IF Cody does win and stays a babyface, i would bet money within 6 months at the most he will be getting more boos then cheers (tho wwe will pipe in more cheers) and that is not a prediction, it's a spoiler. also, one way or another they need to change the big whatever it's called title, make it just THE championship with whatever name.. change the IC title and US title to be the title for all of each show, and maybe having the Raw or Smackdown title means you can challenge for the world title without going thru a tournament or winning a big event.

I have all the respect in the world for the careers that Xavier Woods, Big E and Kofi Kingston have all had. So my problem with all of this (although I do love it) is that the longest run as champ in the very modern era, was CM punk. And knowing WWE the way I think I do, the fact he then wrestled/is wrestling for a rival company, they’re going to want to get that history away from him as soon as. I don’t know how much longer there is to go, think like 6 months or something, but I just can’t see any way they’d have Roman lose until that streak is beaten. I hope I’m wrong, it would be the biggest surprise to me and I’d be stoked about it, but there’s no way Roman is losing at Wrestemania
