If you are trying to QT jump to a planet or legrange station and the markers are bunched on top of each other - so QT drive will spool -then switch to another marker then spool but you cant get them to fully spool to initiate a jump.. - Hold F and scroll the mouse wheel.. that will zoom in - and you can adjust the ships nose to pick 1 of those markers out of that bunch.. Keep holding F and once its spooled just hold B to Jump.

A good habit when traveling to stations orbiting other planets/moons is to drop out of Quantum Travel 15k-20k before you arrive at the planet so you can easily target all of that planet's Orbital Markers and not have them obscured. Travel to OM1 for that planet's north pole, or OM2 for the south pole to more easily reach planetary or orbital destinations.

You can do that as soon as you get the message "You entered jurisdiction of ..." and if you have set a route to said station or moon etc. simply press F2 and click "Set Route" again and it will now remove all unnecessary waypoints

Some ships have a bug where if you BedLog, when you log back in you are partially glitched into the ship. (Freelancer, 300 series and some other ships). If this happens, dont try to walk - just use mouse to rotate back to face the bed - hold F to interact and then sit or lie down again. This will reconnect you to the physics grid and your back in business.

You don't have to land to access station inventory. Once you're within the armistice zone you can come out of your seat and pull up the inventory. This applies to single seat fighters as well. Just get ou of the cocpit , just don't remove your helmet. However, for the major stations you can actually access your inventory from 15kms out , which is outside of the armistice zone at 12km. So stopping your ship between 12-15km away will allow you to interact with your local inventory and use weapons, rearrange weapon racks and all the other stuff u can't do in armistice. When I'm transporting a lot of gear etc I usually stop within this area and Move All to station inventory in case I blow up during landing etc.

When in the pilot seat, hold F and press both mouse buttons to enter inner thought and you can set options for doors opening, call ATC, Flight ready etc. Saves fiddling with the keyboard.

If you land at a space station and the hangar wont let you repair/refuel.. all stations have external 'self land' pads that dont require ATC clearance to land on. Big grey pads with a white RR logo (Rest&Relax) in the middle. Exit hangar and find these pads and you have another shot at a refuel/rearm..and since there are usually 4 of them - if one doesnt work, take off and slide sideways to land on the next one and try again. These pads also have a elevator leading into station.. so if your at a space station and notice the elevator buttons (Pad 1-4) ..these are those pads. Those pads also make the best way to call more than 1 ship into game at a time. I can go to ASOP terminal and retrieve my Corsair, exit hangar and fly out to pad 2. Take elevator down to lobby and go to ASOP again and retrieve my Fury and exit hangar, fly to the pad and load the fury into my corsair. Before Vulture became buyable in-game, i would retrieve 1, fly it out to the pad - then claim it and call another to the hangar. My friend and i would go on a 2 man salvage hunt. Since 'His' ship is on the pad, no need to worry about trying to get the hangar doors open - when you lend a friend or party member a ship.

If you retrieve a medium/large ship to hangar and power it on, sometimes it can take a long time for the shields to charge up from zero - to max. hold or spam F7 to send full power to shields and they will charge Much faster. F5 = Power to weapons F6 = Power to engines (the pool for using thruster Boost) F7 = Power to Shields F8 = Reset balance (33% to each).. If you do send full power to one..say full power to thrusters, so you can climb and exit atmosphere faster -remember to F8 after. If you land at a bunker or even a mining outpost. send full power to shields before you exit ship. That way if the ship comes under attack, while your away - that extra power you gave it may allow it to survive long enough to make it back to pilot seat, turn engines on and get out of dodge.

Some people are getting crime stats tractor beaming 'abandoned' ships. V for scan mode and hold left mouse to deep scan a ship. If the ship has been abandoned long enough or the player claims that ship - the owners name reverts to 'Game Rules'. Any ship owned by Game Rules is truly abandoned and fair game .. you can tow it, blow it up..anything you want - and wont get a crime stat.

Inventory: Hold down shift and click on any item when you have two inventories open (Personal, Local, Ship, etc) and the item will instantly transfer to the other one if there is room (Generally your backpack for personal inventory). No need to click/drag. Move All applies to the current filter, too. Clear the filter to move absolutely everything, of select a specific thing to move all of just that.

Here's a really helpful pro tip: when you QT to a landing zone(A18, NB, etc), the quantum drive will drop you out either directly above, next to or pointed in the direction of the starport. When you first drop out, hit F4 and take a look around. If you don't see the starport, simply fly in the direction you are facing and you will find it. This works everywhere all the time. I figured this a while ago and pass it along to all who get lost looking for starports - especially A18 and Orison. Good vid and some good info for new players.

@hectorheathcote9495, it doesn't work that way for me. I regularly drop out of quantum over Orison facing the hab/hospital platform (Cloudview Center). Over Area 18, I am pointed down, toward the center of the city. From there, almost directly to the west (270 degrees) is what I call "the spire" (tall, pointy building). Go just to the left of the spire and you should be pointing toward the spaceport.

It just isn't true (unless we consider "next to" relevant, because you're anyway somewhere "next to" a starport because you're also "next to" a city). The ship jumps to a marker and stops some distance away from it in the direction it came from. The marker is not at the starport, and the direction you came from can be any.

If you are hauling anything illegal and want to reduce risk of being scanned or intercepted when arriving at a planet out of QT.. drop out of QT a litte early early so that your cooldown will be massively reduced when you do the final jump. If you are in s bigger ship the QT cooldown can be significant.

Not sure if it's a pro tip, but as soon as you ask for landing and get permission, your spawnpoint will be set at the hotel there. Which means you can ask landing and just relog to quickly teleport yourself to the cities habitation. Saves the time to find hangar, landing and eventual train use. Just be aware that your ship will usually have to be claimed and any cargo be lost.

When you want to go to a planet's moon but need to jump to the planet first, drop out of quantum as you enter the jurisdiction (currently it shows as an empty message on your personal HUD). From there, you can jump to the planet's moons, completely circumventing any OM points. Does require you to re-set your route. Or cancel it, as the planet and moons will be nicely grouped up in front of you anyway.

If you get blinded by the sun, but you need to fly in that direction, you can roll your ship so that the ships dashboard acts as a sunshade.

In a Cutlass it is possible to glitch from the ramp into the cargobay. This happens if you run up the ramp on laggy servers. If you have physical boxes (from trading for example) in it, you will get yeeted in some kind of "noclip" mode into them and get trapped inside. Always have a multitool with tractorbeam on you for this. You can target the box thats trapping you and move it out of the way to free yourself. With a healing gun or a multitool with healing attachment, you can press B to heal yourself.

Mine would be to turn off the "Flight - Proximity Assist defaults on" in the game settings. If you notice your ship get a bit twitchy and not quite fully doing what you want in hangers. And sometimes just slamming you into a wall for no reason. Yeah that is it assisting you. It can sometimes freak out in hangers with some ships and it tries to avoid all the walls eventually finding one of them in the process that generally sees the wall winning the fight. Also ignore the fact you can open and close your ship from the pilot seat. Always make sure that if the ramp is open your eyes are on it and no one running aboard. Run up the ramp, turn around, hit the button and make sure it closed without guests. Super easy now to sneak on ships with the "so and so has joined the ship channel" warning no longer being a thing. Well was always easy to board with as much of a hurry everyone is in running around not paying attention, but now the game wont tell you about stowaways.

I am not sure if thats the case anymore but not hitting with lasercannons does not come just from the slower velocity. They also have artificial bullet drop. I noticed that extensively when I tried to snipe Hammerheads on max distance with a 600i. You can actually see the "projectiles" dipping below the aim square in a curve when you zoom in. To see this effect you might need head tracking to lean in then zoom in with key and then use the interact key to zoom in even further. Another way to gauge this is to aim at a stationary target on a moon, like a turret and shoot it at max distance from low above the ground. You will always come up short. So always aim a little above the aimbox with cannons, regardless. Hitting with lasercannons also becomes easier when you have multiple cannons and you switch the firemode to staggered. This allows for easier tracing and averaging your dps a little better especially with bigger cannons. Instead of missing an entire volley you only miss a few until you get dialed in. It cuts down on the window of opportunity, lets say if you have 3 laser or ballistic cannons with a 1.5 delay and a window of shooting only 2.5 seconds rather than only getting off 1 volley and miss completely you can trace a bit and actually hit with a few during that time. Another tip useful for outpost exploration and "wreck management" is that thrusters can blow debris around. Or NPC bodies and their guns. Retro thrusters come in handy that way when you approach a pile of stuff and then stop and/or brake right before it. That can also help flip things like ships or ground vehicles without having to physically touch it with your ship. Another fun trick is to use debris like fallen wings to scale buildings or even ships and use them as ramps. Getting to top hatches of ships or even some side ones. That is useful when your ship is just a bit up in the air so you can't get into a ramp or door. So if you are near an outpost don't panic, thats also why you should always carry a handheld tractor beam.

Right. Also Kel-To store in the stratus mall on Orison sells the biggest selection of food/drink in the game and you can buy in bulk. Buy some food in bulk like sandwiches to bring back to your home location. Sandwiches have no negative affects, unlike Hotdogs, for example - that Dehydrate you. Stay away from foods that dehydrate or are hypermetabolic and your hunger/thirst bar will be more manageable - and ^ smoothies / Cruz so you can replenish food/drink at the same time.

Idk if it’s a pro tip but I like to keep a stock of weapons/armor/ammo/attachments where I usually homemade (which is a refinery most of the time). This way when your doing bunkers or fps in general and you have a whoopsies you can just grab everything from the get go. Something like 100 tacits for the stealth bunker kills for example

I think a tip a lot of you guys miss is "Patience" - This game is in alpha, you will experience weird and game breaking bugs that can be extremely frustrating. Sometimes ones that will mess up your entire game session or cause you to lose all your cargo/current inventory. All you can do is pick yourself up again and keep playing to experience this one of a kind game.

My personal pro tips would be keybinds. Some are just not even bounds by default in the game. - "Drop Item" to drop whatever you're holding in your hands - The one that opens and close all your ship's access doors. I always hit it WHILE landing to save some time. - Another one I absolutely love is the pilot camera switch between Vjoy mode (default one) and relative mode (regular FPS camera movement) which basically allows you to pilot your ship in third person cause otherwise you're always wondering where your Vjoy reset rotation point is (that thing is only visible in first person). Using this key makes any current rotation stop when you press it, and you can just press it again if you wanna keep piloting in Vjoy mode. You could also just always pilot in relative mode. - The hold R to holster weapon/tool in hand is a good one aswell. - Hold Y to exit pilot seat. - Alt+N to call in and out of hangars instead of using communication tab. Man I should make a video.

Just focus on any planet’s security faction. Crusader security, Hurston Security, etc. you’ll go from vlrts (very low risk targets) all the way to erts (extreme risk targets). You unlock these by progressing bounty hunter’s guild rep which is earned from any planet’s security faction. Try to focus on one planet though, I’d recommend Crusader. Once you get to vhrts they’ll have a chance to spawn with really valuable cargo, that’s the best way to make money currently imo. 07

@@surject hard to say. I do those spline jumps often but can't say for sure what triggers the sound bug. It feels like you might have to jump at least 50% of the projected distance to avoid that but that's not actual science. Anyway if you get the bug just do another jump either to the same marker and press U again immediately or just jump to any OM and start all over. That should fix it

When you have it set to your liking, save the profile. That way you can reload it when an update resets everything.

Use an USB Hub for your sticks (I have one on my monitor) but make sure it is one that doesnt randomize their ports. Windows HID device management is the problem here. Some USB ports simply get a new ID on reboot and since SC supports all kinds of devices and not just a set few, it allows all of them from anywhere. This command is useful when Windows sets your secondary joystick to your primary and you want to easily reuse your keybindings: pp_resortdevices joystick 1 2 - Change device 4 to 1 and 5 to 2? pp_resortdevices joystick 4 1 pp_resortdevices joystick 5 2 - Export bindings to a file named layout_mybindings_exported.xml: pp_rebindkeys export all mybindings - List the detected devices in order: i_DumpDeviceInformation

you should mark or remember (photo) the usb port your joystick or hotas is connected to. They should always be connected to in the same port. if you swap ports the mapping won't work.

1:50 and yet i turn it off because my eyes can clearly see the direction i am heading into. so its pro tip to turn off. this is more for beginners to understand. turning it off allows you to see your heading by just looking at your surroundings. u can still pull off the same moves but much more harder to pill off because you're depending on the ship movements rather a marker. thus having it off is a pro tip.

​@@pbond21 its easier just so you know. see when flying a plane in any other game or real world. you're mind is reading the instruments on the dash. but u do not get a vector indicator you're eyes and mind are already programed to look at these instruments and your eyes to view the outside is your indicator of your movement. if you switch this to a single icon on screen your mind has to retrain everything you just learned a whole other way because you don't have these instruments guiding you. so CIG toned it down for the players calling everyone more or less not smart... so they give you an easy icon to read. but the problem with this is your mind has to rework and reprogram to understand it. but see naturally your mind and eyes can already see the heading and path. and its harder to see this when focusing on a tiny icon and u end up losing sight of your own surroundings. while this is off your mind will naturally understand where u are heading and as such your hand to eye coordination will improve and not only will it do this. you'll naturally fly better. you'll have a more understanding of how much speed is need to stop or turn. your mind will adjust back to where it should be. and on top of this u get to focus on more instruments like ALT speed. you'll be able to understand this more if you have a flight stick or two. it just allows you to use more of your brain that you naturally do when driving a car. your eyes on the road and its surroundings while your body will naturally press the gas or steer. if u replaced your eyesight to just a tiny icon your mind is now more focused on that and not everything else. thus making you more or less like a child learning the ropes when u already learned it a long time ago, naturally...
