For landing pads, both at stations and on the surface, they prioritize whatever ship was there first for services. even if there's enough room for your ship next to the one already there, you won't be able to use it to repair or refuel. It's why people abandoning their ships on these pads is generally frowned upon. These ships do not despawn when you log out, either.

Yeah you can gently shove the ships off the pads if you're careful but I didn't want to mention that incase new players blow themselves up or get an accidental crimestat lol

This is not true at all. I have repaired ships many many times on pads with other ships, and unable to repair in empty ones. There is no set pattern to this. And I am referring to the pads outside of stations and in mining stations on surface.

This is good to know. Maybe I'll start using my SRV to yoink abandoned ships off pads lol. Speaking of which, another good tip: If you scan a ship and the "Owner" field lists "GameRules" that means the player that owned that ship has logged out, so you don't need to worry about them lurking around waiting to snipe you for your cargo lol.

Great vid, I knew most except the drop item keybind. Here's 2 more: 1) In the starmap, If you can't select a location on a planet or above it , like its space station, double click on the planet and try again, the routing line should appear. I just get into the habit to double click a planet to select it to be sure. 2) The flattened circle with the white dot in the middle on the left side of the HUD is actually a 3D visualization of your where you Pilot Velocity Indicator is , so you can always look at that and see what direction your ship is headed in 3D space just by looking at the white dot. oh bonus one : 2.5) Go into Game settings and change Pilot Velocity Indicator from Fading to Always On. This way it doesn't disappear where near the middle of the screen and u'll know that if u don't see it , its off to the sides somewhere and it'll allow u fine control of your ship direction to avoid obstacles in front of you etc.

Extremely useful video this pal. There are quite a few of these tips I didn’t know about especially number 12. I always thought it was strange when they introduced the new inventory system that it was easy to equip ammo magazines but so fiddly to unequip them. I’ve been doing it manually all this time oblivious to the ‘item port helper’ button!

1:30 - The last time I tested the inventory you could not be more than 12km away. Some AZs are larger so just being in the AZ might not be close enough. But, this is a very handy tip to share with people. I played for over a year before I figured this out.

Yep good point, I think New Babbage is one of the ones with one of the larger AZs, but I think most of the stations aren't too bad. I should've given a tip that says "if you're within hangar request range you should be good"

I had recently used it because of the spirit A1. it's convergence point is to close. But as far as on the fly adjustments. @@korhilionMiddle mouse click will still trigger missile operator mode, but there were bugs in this patch that prevented missiles from loading and shooting. I believe they were fixed in a hotfix, but I'm not positive.

Instead of just changing the default PIP in the Game Settings, you can also set a key to toggle between both modes. I use lag pip only on bigger ships (Cutlass and above) so I can switch both pips with a keypress (or button press in my case)

Mate, I’ve been so occupied with finding Vera helmets that I’ve not done any space bounties until this week, when I bought a C2, equipped it with S5 Lightstrikes and have been doing VHRTs.. and looting the wrecks. Just did a single VHRT with 2x C2..salvaged about 400SCU of naughty stuff.. easily $3.5 million AUEC for 30 min.

Hahah I think the main thing is the radar is that small so you can more easily parse where the enemies are in relation to you. Since the radar is zoomed into only 5km, it's useful for locating enemies above/below you and also to a given direction and distance from you. If it was zoomed out much more then you might have too many contacts on the radar and it wouldn't be useful without a much larger screen (or dedicated MFD maybe?)

yea, for gameplay 5km is definitely enough. I was just having a little fun about Si-Fi setting, since human can already target airplane with air-air missile at a firing position 100km away from the target during the cold war, and that was the early 1980s, 45 years ago. so that in space age, a 5km combat radar is just, well, you know what I mean here. 😂@@WingZeroType

@7:00 this is incorrect. Bottom Line Up Front you can pay off the charges that are classifying you as Crime Stat 3 in certain cases. Crimes are aggregated to give you a Crime Stat level. For example, if you are charged with three counts of Destruction of a Vehicle your Crime Stat level will be CS3. But these charges can be removed by paying the fines. When you pay the fines for these charges your Crime Stat is gone. This misunderstanding occurs because generally when you have a CS3 you have usually killed someone; and there is no fine associated with that charge.

ohhh yes you're right, I forgot about that - thank you very much for pointing out the aggregated charges issue. That can be paid off, but you do need to be wary of turrets trying to kill you on sight if you're not going to a city or Grim HEX.

haha sorry! Let me see if i can explain it a different way. When you go into the different screens in the cockpit (called multi-functional displays or MFDs) you can click through them to set different things. Some of the menus have long scrollable lists, but when you scroll down the list that zooms out your view. If you middle click to zoom in instead of scrolling up to zoom in, it'll make it so that when you scroll the mouse scroll wheel it won't zoom in or out, so that you can scroll up and down the lists easily. I hope that helped!

Thank you! It works for me now to lock the zoom (like I showed in the video) but it used to work better. It used to be that you could middle click into a specific MFD and it would keep you zoom-locked and left/right/up/down locked directly on that MFD. Now unfortunately you need to move your view to the MFD and it doesn't lock there anymore, but the zoom still locks. Is that the same thing you're experiencing?

Sorry for the late response, but I'd say in general the game definitely requires some patience, and some time investment in learning the common bugs and workarounds. Once you know all the common issues and how to work around them, it's not that bad. But you need the initial patience to spend hours learning and working around common issues.

TIP: When claiming ship with insurance, you can wait out your expedited time before paying the fee to save some money.

Yep you'll save some money and won't lose any time. Generally it's worthwhile after respawning to do whatever else you need to do in station (buy stuff, equip stuff, etc) and then expedite the ship.

no for scanning the cargo bay you have to go into scanning mode, but right now there's a bug that you have to scan a ship to subtarget, using the 8 key. 8 is just for subtargetting for weapons.

so if you hold the F key and scroll in to look at your MFDs (multifunctional displays) in the cockpit of a ship, you can navigate through menus in those screens. Some of those menus have long lists of items that you want to scroll, but when scrolling the list of items, you'll also be zooming in and out, which is annoying. By clicking the middle mouse button, you'll lock your zoom to be zoomed in as long as you're holding down the F key so that when you scroll you'll scroll the list without zooming in and out. I hope that makes sense!

7:10 doesnt matter cs 1, 2 or 3 you can pay all fines except homicide.

yeah but CS3 you can't get rid of your crimestat by paying off the fines and the station guns will shoot at you everywhere except grim hex (or cities).

Thank you! And for clarity, i call pitching up what it is - pitching up. But you want to use both. Upstrafe and pitching up are the directions you want to use when fighting. If your pitch alone isn't enough to track someone adding upstrafe can make the difference in letting you get an extra mag on them while rate battling!

SC have no gameplay right now... So there is nothing to win. Reach max rank with reputation for nothing. Just to do the same quests but with more money reward. No char progression at all. Right the game is just money farm to buy ships.
