Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart deserves a mention. When platforming, players can feel either Ratchet or Rivet’s footsteps through the vibrations. When shooting, players can feel the recoil of the guns and they have alternate fire modes depending on how far the triggers are pulled down.

The speaker is pretty cool too hearing the interference between the two mains gloves against the running walls is pretty cool plus either of the jet boots or on rails part really has some amazing sound effects.

I got a PS5 in February after having the series x since launch, and I gotta say, my favorite thing about the entire system is the dualsense. The adaptive triggers and haptic feedback and the overall smooth feel of the dualsense make it my favorite part of the PS5 console. It's really revolutionary in its tech. One game that blew me away was resident evil 4 remake. There's small things they do that they do great with the adaptive triggers and haptic feedback. But the most obvious one is when you're driving around in the boat on the lake and you feel the tenseness of R2 as you hold it down for the gas. And same thing with the brake at L2.

Did you use the gyro aim? The motion aiming was one of my favorite features when I played RE4 in the Wii days. I was even able to crank up the difficulty because I was such a snappy and fast shot.

Oh yes, the dualsense is the successor to the PlayStation 4 controller dualshock 4 and I’m so far I love it used for Gran Turismo 7

A few games I’d like to add. Rift Apart uses it really well, as do the RE Remake games. In RE you can really feel the weight of the guns. Aiming a shotgun feels heavier than aiming a pistol. Also, GTA V uses it pretty well too. The colors will flash red and blue while being chased by cops, cell phone audio comes through the controller speaker, and the haptic feedback when like riding a bike down a train track is well done and immersive. It also has varying trigger resistances based on the gun being used. I’ve 100% GTA V on both the PS5 and the Series X, and it’s way better on the PS5.

Ghost of Tsushima directors cut is the BEST implementation of dualsense features. Almost everything in the game was accompanied with dualsense vibration, such as the wind, hud, weather, and more. Theres even vibrations on each footstep when you sprint. Combine this with it's INSANELY beautiful graphics and fun gameplay, and it is probably the greatest game on the ps5 (in my opinion)

But the most underutilised feature is the motion controls. Look, aiming a gun with motion controls is so good and is an amazing option. But many shooters don't have this. I mean all the ports of old school dooms have it, but the modern dooms don't. Doesn't that seem confusing?

Any shooter game that doesn't allow the Dual Sense to use its gyro aim is an irritating and annoying experience. Right now, Helldivers 2 lets you use the gyro, it doesn't turn off aim assist, and the touch pad is used for scanning and scrolling the map. No other game I'm familiar with makes use of these two features at the same time and in this way.

As someone who owns both consoles, my deciding factor on buying games recently is the haptic feedback. It's truly next gen. Xbox is losing sales taking so long to compete with sony on their controllers.

But it makes almost no gameplay use of the Dual Sense. No gyro aiming, uses touchpad as nothing but a giant button. No innovative use of the adaptive triggers. Changing the controller color has been an option since the DS4.

I’ve found a way to increase the short battery life of the controller is to just turn all that stuff off and turn down the light brightness. I could care less if my controller vibrates or puts tension on the triggers but the ps5 controller is the best one they’ve made yet, just too short of a battery life.
