The PS2 is my 1st playstation console I got back when I was a kid and I absolutely love it. I wish we had a library of lots of PS2 games that we could play On the PS5 but not for streaming

I remember coming home from school in 2004. I was a kid around 6-7 years old. My dad gave me an offer. He said:'' Son, if you clean the backgarden and it looks good. I have a gift for you.'' I went to work in the garden and i finished up 1½ hours later. My dad came with a Playstation 2 Fifa 2004 and GTA Vice City and also I got a gameboy advance because I defended a girl in class from a classmate and my father said:'' if you ever beat someone up for good I give you an gameboy.'' Thanks dad. :)

What sold me to get a PS2 was Final Fantasy X and later on Kingdom Hearts. I also had the Dance Dance Revolution games on it. Speaking of PSP games on PS2, OutRun 2006 also required you to have both versions (PS2 and PSP) to unlock the extra content

The PS2 is the last of the best era of console gaming. It was the last console without games featuring microtransactions, and it was the last where the games had to come out finished due to connectivity limitations. Ever since, most AAA games come out buggy & unfinished, and rely on massive patches to fix.

When the PS2 was released in 2000, it sold for £299, which was the same price as the original PlayStation when it was released in 1995. Fortunately, the redesigned PS2 Slimline that was released in 2004 sold at a more affordable £99

I remember the fall of 2002. GTA: Vice City came out on the PS2. The game took place in 1986. 16 years ago felt SO long ago back then. (I was only 14 when it came out). And that world looked SO different. That’s like the game being set in 2007. That doesn’t feel so long ago. Has the world, popular culture really changed that much at all???

The PS2 didn't sell because of the dvd player. It wasn't promoted and most of us didn't know about the dvd function until we bought it.

There is a reason it was "the cheapest DVD player" back in 2000. It was a shitty DVD player. If you used it to watch a lot of movies it would burn out the eye that reads the discs. My first PS 2 I ever had died inside of a year because of this. It stopped reading all discs. Dvds, games, and cds it would not play a single thing.

I've had most consoles and handheleds games for the better part of 20 years. From the gameboy color to the Ps5. I can say the PS2 changed how i viewed gaming and how i played moving forward.

When Silent Hill 2 came out thats when I finally gave in and got a Ps2 , at the time there were a memory card shortage so for more than a week I probably played it over bout 10 times before subduing a memory card. It felt amazing when I could finally save.

I remember the first PS2 game I played was Midnight Club. I didn't own a PS2, this was when it was hard to get them and someone I went to church with had one. He was hosting a church event and we played a LOT of Midnight Club....he also had Unreal Tournament....played a lot of that too....I remember being blown away by the graphics in Midnight Club....that was back when generational leaps in new consoles were obvious.....sadly its not like that anymore

Despite what anyone says, 480p is possible via RGB SCART not just Component or VGA, it's a pain in the ass to set this up but you need something that supports Sync-on-Green like the OSSC and some PVMs when you turn off the external sync, make sure you use a high quality cable whether it's RGB SCART, S-Video or Component

Great video, still enjoying my PS2 slim SCPH-70004, with aftermarket wireless controller and a remote controller to turn on and off. It has a lot of great and fun games, currently having 90 games and collecting them further. It is a well made machine.

I once kept my Ps2 on for 2 months straight with Gta Sa on 24/7. Didn't have a memory card. Was so close to beating the game when one day I failed a mission and yanked back on the controller. Back when chordless was a luxury my teenage self could not afford. Cause and effect the controllers chord snatched the console off my dresser running my 2 months of no save after school gaming. Talk about devastated.
