Not every quarterback can be like Tom Brady or Ben Roethlisberger, where they step into the spotlight and succeed right away.
In fact, many of the greater quarterbacks - past and present - struggled for a few years before they finally morphed into the superstar we all know and love today.
Today we present 10 quarterbacks who looked like busts...then became STARS.
And don't forget to subscribe to TPS and make sure you hit the bell and turn on our notifications and join the notification squad
And a big shout out to Graenn Stickann for suggesting this video!

Kurt Warner had 4 good years, won a SB on a fluke play to Isaac Bruce, played average in the postseason and 3 SB appearances. He's the most overrated HOF member ever. Voters are enamored with stats, so if that's the case, where's Esiason, Kreig, or Bledsoe? What about Jim Plunkett?

Alex Smith is also the father to the modern day RPO's. Doug Pedereson and Matt Naggy actually stated that they based their offense around Alex Smith in Utah(Urban Meyer) and that he helped them develop their playbooks for their new teams. Smith could probably be a great coach in the future of GM. He also got to play under some of the most influential coaches in Football history. College- Urban Meyer 2005- Mike Mcarthy (Packers) and Mike Nolan 2006-Norv Turner ( Cowboys 90s OC coordinator) 2007- Bum 2008-Mike Martz(Rams 99 HC) 2009- IR 2010- His renaissance actually starts when he returns from injury in 2010. 2011-Greg Roman 2013- Andy Reid (HC) Doug Pederson (OC) 2016-Matt Naggy(OC) 2018- Jay Gruden (HC) That is am amazing portfolio of learned playbooks(languages)

As a Bucs fan, I resemble that remark. Honestly, what is it with their draft choices? Year after year the Bucs get great talented players who are supposed to turn things around, and they do eventually, but do so for another team. The big hiccup I've noticed is the inability to staff a decent front offense line. Do that and even mediocre QBs can look great. Current QB Winston has potential but he needs better protection.

I lived in the Bay Area and Northern California during the Joe Montana-Steve Young era. My assessment of him when he arrived in San Francisco was that he was mentally disorganized but had Hall of Fame potential. I even called a sports show and explained that he was better off sitting behind Montana than going somewhere else where he would end his career with a great highlight reel and a lot of injuries. The host gave me the rush before I could get to the eventual Hall of Fame part. Show hosts are like that and it is hard to get a word in unless they let you do it. They talk very fast and have to keep the show moving. I lived in San Jose in the 1970's and 1980's and hung out at the same same pub the 49er players went to when they trained at San Jose City College. I knew a lot about Plunkett and saw him in the pub a number of times. Today he is back in the BayArea and has a lot of physical problems as a result of playing football, though fortunately apparently not CTE issues. These guys make a lot of money, but they pay a high price for the glory we get to groove on.

That’s not true, the Falcons drafted Favre 33rd overall as just the 3rd QB taken in the 1991 draft so they absolutely had plans of him being the teams future franchise QB. But him and Atlanta coach Jerry Glanville didn’t get along so he was sent packing after one season. They probably didn’t expect him to do as well as he did, but they certainly never thought he lacked talent .

Steve Young, Alex Smith, and Warren Moon. Three of my favorite players are on this list! Love it! Keep up the great work. I can only imagine just how far the 49ers would have gone if they would have kept Alex and Jim instead of trading Alex to the chiefs and letting go of Jim back to coaching college football.

Rich Gannon sucked in KC? You better check yourself on that. His performance in KC is why the Raiders wanted him. Marty Shot.. dropped the ball on Rich when he took Gannon out and let Grbac play after recovery from an injury. I am convinced KC was Super Bowl bound that year with Gannon as the QB.

How about Len Dawson? Len Dawson was drafted in 1957 by the Pittsburgh Steelers. After sitting Pittsburgh's bench for a few seasons, he was traded to the Cleveland Browns and sat on their bench. @@fg6971 - You want to know who the Steelers could have gotten instead of Len Dawson? They could have drafted Jim Brown. THE Jim Brown. The two biggest mistakes in Steelers franchise history was camp cutting Johnny Unitas in 1955 and not drafting Jim Brown in 1957. Those two decisions stand out as sterling examples as to why the Steelers were a laughingstock before Chuck Noll came to town. Could you imagine the Steelers with Johnny Unitas as QB and having Jim Brown in his backfield? Those two blunders doomed the Steelers to another 20 years of losing.

He was never voted to a Pro-Bowl and was never selected All-Pro (1st or 2nd team). He doesn't deserve to be in the HOF.

What about the slap in the face when they wouldn’t allow McNair into the training facility any longer? Why didn’t they let Steve McNair mentor Vince young? The same way Green Bay allowed Aaron Rodgers to sit behind Brett Favre for FOUR years! Steve Fisher did not help his legacy or the legacy of the Titans organization.
