H yes, michael waltrip was in first, jr in second, and sr was in 3rd on the last lap, dale tried to block sterling marlin on the inside and they made contact, sending sr up the track head on into the wall where he died, kevin harvick filled the seat of the 3, but in the newly retired (until 2014) 3 car out of respect for dale sr, and in harvicks 3rd race, he won, and when they went back to daytona that july, dale srs son, jr, won, using moves his father would’ve used, such an emotional story

Manning's retirement speech was the best. Always had a lot of respect for him. It may have been painful to watch him lumber along (I am slower than molasses but could probably beat him in a 40) and he may have had a "wet noodle" arm but he brought a level of intellect to the game that was amazing to watch. My friend surprised me with tickets to his first game in Indy as a Bronco. It was her first time at an NFL game and while i have been to many, it was my first time at a game of that caliber. It was so loud in the stadium when he received a standing ovation my ears rang for 3 days. He always appeared rather stoic but that night you could clearly see he was choked up and appreciated the fan's response.

I still cry when I see Mohammed Ali lighting the torch at the 1996 Olympic games in Atlanta. The man was so much more than sports. He transcended sports and politics as he went around the world to fight. I think only a select few even knew he was the one to light the torch. So when he came out, the reaction from Bob Costas was absolutely genuine. The choices you made for this list are great. Yet, I just think this one needed to be included.

The week after the Daytona 500 when Steve Park, driving a car owned by Dale, won at Rockingham 2. 3 weeks after the 500, when Kevin Harvick, who took over in Dale's car (renumbered to 29 and recolored white), won at Atlanta in a photofinish (same way Dale won the same race the previous year) 3. Dale Jr winning the Pepsi 400 at Daytona that July

Dale Jr's win at Daytona in the Pepsi 400 with Michael Waltrip coming in 2nd, the reverse order in which they finished in the 500, is still one of the most emotional moments in Nascar history in my opinion. I was watching the race Dale Earnhardt senior passer away with my father when I was a child. He was my dad favorite driver. To this day, the image of my old man bawling on the couch stings me. I've never heard of this guy before (Justin Fraction), but he has a great voice and a nice delivery. If he has play by play commentary ability, he should be in the broadcast booth somewhere. Very enjoyable video, very good selection of moments to remember and a good presenter. Voted.
