Two of my favorite KZbinrs. Great to hear Captain Lee on the other end of the interview chair. As a busy guy, with very little time, who's trying to get better at guitar, Lee is one of my guitar heroes. He is constantly trying to get better, and he's always putting himself out there for us to follow along with him.

Lee's bit about watching someone open their first guitar was spot on. My daughter wanted to play guitar so we got her a sparkle red Squire Strat for her birthday...the look on her face when she unwrapped it was absolutely priceless. Keep up the good work guys!

Lee is either the best faker on the planet, or a super nice person. I choose the believe the latter. And for balance I can see why the rest of the room will need to resort to humor or even cynicism to avoid choking up or at least be seen to be captivated be Lee’s tangents, but you have to admit comes across as a really sincere person in an increasingly cynical world (and business)

Lee, Tyler. I can most definitely relate to getting your first instrument. I did get mine on Christmas and it was a very emotional moment. And yes, i did cry. To be able to finally express sounds and songs that are trapped within. Its a door opening moment
@JohnnyArtPavlou6 жыл бұрын
Aaron Lewis, lovely moment. And of course I’m wondering if Andertons does free set ups because you get that cheap guitar and the kid takes it home and he doesn’t know what it supposed play like and it’s a little more frustrating because the action’s so high and the thing won’t intonate.
@BL4CK5M1TH06 жыл бұрын
John JohnnyArt Pavlou that was also me LOL I had to invest in my second guitar and got it at age 19. Learning how to intonate/setup was a big help. It took learning from a guitar-center employee to get there. Id say Andertons would hook you up. He’s been around for so long you’d think he’s hit plateau on many aspects

This is probably the best video on this channel. When Lee was telling that story about selling a kid his first guitar, that was a beautiful moment, had a bit of tug on the emotions. Adding the music worked really well too, it wasn't cheesy or disrespectful; it enhanced the story-telling. Well done Tyler! Very genuine interview/jam/collab/whatever, keep being awesome!

Lee "Do it for Love" that was a great comment. I remember in my early 20's I played because I just loved the guitar. When I got into a band we had to get a set list and play night after night it was work! I realized it was killing what I loved, turning it into something I HAD to do.

Hiram Bullock...oh yes sir. One of the most soulful guitar players ever with extraordinary rhythm chops, a jazzy lead player good enough to play with Brecker/Steps Ahead and a giant fan of Hendrix. Good choice Captain! I saw him play live at Ham Odeon once with David Sanborn and he tore the place down. Hugely unrecognized talent - RIP.

You know I really get that about them not wanting to listen to dead people's music! I'm 42 and the people I love to listen to are all gone it's hard to keep listening to them but I believe our future is in their past! Like SRV, BB, ALBERT, FREDDIE! it's hard but I learn so much from them I can't stop listening! I've been exposing my children to their music too because it is so deeply felt and authentic! I was10 when Srv died seems like everyone that has or had an impact on me is gone (Albert Collins) can't believe I almost forgot him! Music to me ain't the same anymore! Sorry for the rant just miss them legends!

Lee, it is simple. Learn the standard chords in five positions, then learn all the conversations of the chord. Maj 7, min7, 7 and so on in all five positions. This will open you up to learning more chords and inversions, odd inversions. That is how I prepped for GIT. That and simple reading.
