While you are correct about the parents and the violence, Jim Henson also thought the first film was too violent and he played a major part in the second film, not being as violent. This is also the reason why, for the third film, the Henson company did not return since in the third film it was decided the turtles were going to use their weapons again.

So I just wanted to point out something. That I noticed years ago when seeing it for the first time. The football scramble seen in the lab building. If you look and are very observant you'll notice that a utrom.... Otherwise known as Krang. Is dead center of the set design. And knowing that that was a story line that was deleted it's rather interesting that they kept the same set design. Just thought I'd throw that out there cuz I don't know of many people that actually talk about that.

In a better timeline, this movie would’ve had Baxter be the main villain, have perry be his assistant, include bebop, rocksteady, irma and Casey, and the final battle would have Baxter transforming into a mutant fly and splinter would arrive to help his sons fight the fly. Also, have the ending or a post credits scene show perry being an utrom in disguise this whole time sending a signal to Krang.

nice video but the reason beebop and rocksteady weren't used in the movie had nothing to do with rights issues. eastman and laird had final approval on the script. they hated almost everything about the cartoon; especially the goofy stuff like beebop and rocksteady, so they vetoed them being in it. it's so disappointing because they eventually gave in to the lighter tone at some point and it was still completely goofy anyway, so it would've made more sense to have them in that movie than two original characters no one knew about that were literally invented to take their place because the studio couldn't use them.
