Call me crazy if you want but the first TMNT is one of the greatest movies ever made.. think about it, they come to you and tell you to make a live action teenage mutant ninja turtles… no cgi.. and you knock it out of the park.. the turtles looked so good you could do close ups in full light with no issues.. it is like an impossible task but they pulled it off…

CGI wasnt an option back then and wasnt the only movie using animatronics. Gotta remember Alien was nearly a decade before this. What im tryna say is the imagination and creativity was there , just nobody ever made the animatronics be the main character. If you think about it they grabbed a muppet character and made a real human in costume carry it around filming it while other people animate the thing and voice it. the tools were there the whole time , the creativity from this people made it seems a whole new thing .

They gave an Utrom the name "Krang" as a nod to the 87 Cartoon. The 2012 Series Made the Kraang (yes spelled that way) a whole race than one being and were more brain shaped than the Utrom. I Think the Kraang and the Utrom should both exist in some version of a TMNT series and have the Utrom on earth as refugees from the Kraang who were a warring race on a planet in their solar system... at least, that's my idea. I get 2003 did something like that having Sh'rell being a criminal overlord Utrom, but you could have him and the Foot just be a similar species alltogether.

According to Hoag and several of her castmates, her beef with the producers was not about violence in the films. It was about the unacceptable conditions the suit actors were put through during shooting. Hoag is proud of the finished film and was an enthusiastic part of the 30-year anniversary celebration. She's beloved by her co-stars. She would insist they be given more frequent breaks to catch their breath and get water when sweating their asses off in heavy foam rubber during the summer North Carolina sun. A great read is Ken Scott's book, "Teenage Ninja to Mutant Turtle."

@daltysmilth28 күн бұрын
I think Michelangelo’s Ralph Nader joke was meant as a reference to Nader’s commitment to environmental causes like cleaning garbage out of the ocean- specifically things like those plastic rings they put on six packs of soda cans, which animals can get caught in if not cut up and disposed of properly. One animal in particular often used as an example was… get ready… baby sea turtles. They crawl in, get caught, and as they grow, their shell becomes deformed and they die. That’s why you should always cut up those soda can rings before you throw them away.

Love this movie, love the first one. The first one is among my top favorite movies of all time. Great little deep dive. Not that I want to be the "actually guy", but the reason why Super Shredder is so dumb, is sort of explained in the movie. Professor Perry does explain to the Turtles that he did contaminate the ooze, in order to make Tokka and Rahzar less intelligent and there more less dangerous. And it's very likely that Shredder's last little vial of ooze is from the very same contaminated batch. Just wanted to point it out, because a lot of people does seem to miss that part, when talking about Super Shredder. Now if the writers themselves had that in mind, is a whole other discussion. XD
